چکیده

We present mid IR spectro-photometric imaging of a sample of eight nearby (D ≤ 240 pc) Herbig Ae/Be stars. The spectra are dominated by photospheric emission (HR6000), featureless infrared excess emission (T Cha), broad silicate emission feature (HR5999) and the infrared emission bands (HD 97048, HD 97300, TY CrA, HD 176386). The spectrum of HD179218 shows both silicate emission and infrared emission bands (IEB). All stars of our sample where the spectrum is entirely dominated by IEB have an extended emission on scales of a few thousand AU (∼ 10′′). We verify the derived source extension found with ISOCAM by multi–aperture photometry with ISOPHT and compare our ISOCAM spectral photometry with ISOSWS spectra.

Constraints on Disk Sizes around Young Intermediate-mass Stars: Nulling Interferometric Observations of Herbig Ae Objects

Physical models of circumstellar disks surrounding pre-main sequence stars are currently constrained primarily by the spectral energy distribution (SED) of the system. Here we present first results from a survey of nearby Herbig Ae stars using nulling interferometry. We measure the spatial extent of the mid-IR emission for the stars HD 150193, HD 163296, and HD 179218. The results indicate the ...

A spatial study of the mid-IR emission features in four Herbig Ae/Be stars

Context. Infrared (IR) spectroscopy and imaging provide a prime tool to study the characteristics of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) molecules and the mineralogy in regions of star formation. Herbig Ae/Be stars are known to have varying amounts of natal cloud material present in their vicinity. Aims. Our aim is to study the characteristics of the mid-IR emission originating in Herbig Ae/B...

Wind diagnostics and correlations with the near-infrared excess in Herbig Ae/Be stars

Intermediate dispersion spectroscopic observations of 37 Herbig Ae/Be stars reveal that the equivalent widths of their [OI]λ6300 andHα emission lines, are related to their nearinfrared colours in the same fashion as the T-Tauri stars. Such a correlation strongly supports the idea that the winds from Herbig Ae/Be stars arise in the same manner as those from TTauri stars, i.e. through accretion d...

Non - emission line young stars of intermediate mass 3

We present optical spectra of four intermediate mass candidate young stellar objects that have often been classified as Herbig Ae/Be stars. Typical Herbig Ae/Be emission features are not present in the spectra of these stars. Three of them, HD 36917, HD 36982 and HD 37062 are members of the young Orion Nebula Cluster (ONC). This association constrains their ages to be ≤ 1 Myr. The lack of appre...

Protoplanetary disks around Herbig Ae / Be stars : Indications from ISO spectroscopy

An analysis of solid-state features in infrared spectra of 46 Herbig Ae/Be stars is presented. The presence of solid-state emission bands is compared to other indicators of circumstellar material, such as Hα emission, optical variability and sub-mm continuum fluxes. The correlation between these different indicators is weak, if present at all, in our sample. However, a strong dependence on spec...
