Preformed donor-directed anti-HLA-DP antibodies may be an impediment to successful kidney transplantation.

چکیده
Recent reports have suggested an association of antiDP antibodies with allograft rejection and graft loss, in both primary kidney transplant recipients and in re-grafts [1–3]. However, in most cases, it is difficult to separate the effects of anti-HLA-DP antibodies from other anti-HLA class I and class II antibodies. Among non-conserved haplotypes, HLA-DP allele mismatches occur despite matching for HLA class I and class II loci, because of the lack of linkage disequilibrium between DP and other HLA loci [4]

Anti-HLA Antibodies and Kidney Allograft Outcomes in Recipients with Donor Bone Marrow Cell Infusion
Background: Anti-HLA-antibodies are known to affect the allograft survival in transplant recipient patients. Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between anti-HLA antibodies and kidney allograft outcomes, particularly in recipients with concur-rent donor bone marrow cell infusion (DBMI). Methods: Between June 2006 and May 2007, forty living unrelated donor kidney tra...
متن کاملSuccessful kidney transplantation after desensitization in a patient with positive flow crossmatching and donor-specific anti-HLA-DP antibody
BACKGROUND Traditionally, the presence of antibodies against human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-C and DP was considered to be associated with only a low risk of antibody-mediated rejection (ABMR) in kidney transplantation (KT), because the antigenicities of these proteins are weak. However, the clinical effects of HLA-C and -DP donor-specific HLA antibodies (DSHAs) have recently been reevaluated. ...
متن کاملSuccessful renal re-transplantation in the presence of pre-existing anti-DQ5 antibodies when there was zero mismatch at class I human leukocyte antigen A, B, & C: a case report
INTRODUCTION Hyperacute rejection may be prevented by avoiding the transplantation of kidneys into patients with pre-existing anti-donor Class I human leukocyte antigen antibodies. However, the role of anti-donor-Class II-human leukocyte antigen-DQ antibodies is not established. The question is ever more relevant as more sensitive cross-matching techniques detect many additional antibodies duri...
متن کاملSuccessful sequential liver-kidney transplantation in a patient with performed lymphocytotoxic antibodies.
SENSITI ZA TION of potential transplant recipients by formation of Iymphocytotoxic antibodies can be a result of prior blood transfusions, pregnancy. or failed allograft transplantation. While the presence of preformed anti-HlA-A and -B Iymphocytotoxic antibodies does not appear to influence the survival of liver allografts; this has been a contraindication in renal transplantation because of t...
متن کاملPreformed IgG antibodies against major histocompatibility complex class II antigens are major risk factors for high-grade cellular rejection in recipients of heart transplantation.
BACKGROUND Preformed anti-HLA antibodies reacting specifically with donor lymphocytes have been associated with acute vascular rejection and early cardiac allograft failure. However, the effect of preformed anti-HLA antibodies directed against allogeneic major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I or II antigens of a donor panel on heart transplantation outcome has not been extensively studi...
