چکیده

Background Network meta-analysis (NMA) combines direct and indirect evidence from trials to calculate treatment effect estimates and rank treatments. Modelling approaches for continuous and binary outcomes are relatively well developed, but less work has been done with time-toevent outcomes. Such outcomes have usually been analysed using Cox proportional hazard (PH) models, but in oncology with longer follow-up of trials, and timedependent effects of targeted treatments, this may no longer be appropriate. Royston-Parmar models, fitted using WinBUGS, are a flexible alternative.

Bayesian one‐step IPD network meta‐analysis of time‐to‐event data using Royston‐Parmar models

Network meta-analysis (NMA) combines direct and indirect evidence from trials to calculate and rank treatment estimates. Such outcomes are usually analysed using Cox proportional hazard (PH) models. However, in oncology with longer follow-up time, and...

Multilevel mixed effects parametric survival models using adaptive Gauss-Hermite quadrature with application to recurrent events and IPD meta-analysis

Multilevel mixed effects survival models are used in the analysis of clustered survival data, such as repeated events, multi-centre clinical trials, and Individual Participant Data (IPD) meta-analyses, to investigate heterogeneity in baseline risk and covariate effects. In this paper we extend parametric frailty models including the exponential, Weibull, and Gompertz proportional hazards models...

Meta-analysis of individual patient data versus aggregate data from longitudinal clinical trials.

BACKGROUND In clinical trials following individuals over a period of time, the same assessment may be made at a number of time points during the course of the trial. Our review of current practice for handling longitudinal data in Cochrane systematic reviews shows that the most frequently used approach is to ignore the correlation between repeated observations and to conduct separate meta-analy...

Survival Analysis of Irish Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Patients Diagnosed from 1995–2010

INTRODUCTION The Irish ALS register is a valuable resource for examining survival factors in Irish ALS patients. Cox regression has become the default tool for survival analysis, but recently new classes of flexible parametric survival analysis tools known as Royston-Parmar models have become available. METHODS We employed Cox proportional hazards and Royston-Parmar flexible parametric modeli...

The current application of the Royston-Parmar model for prognostic modeling in health research: a scoping review

Background: Prognostic models incorporating survival analysis predict the risk (i.e., probability) of experiencing a future event over a specific time period. In 2002, Royston and Parmar described a type of flexible parametric survival model called the Royston-Parmar model in Statistics in Medicine, a model which fits a restricted cubic spline to flexibly model the baseline log cumulative hazar...
