چکیده
This paper describes a technique for the blind deconvolution of extended objects such as Hubble Space Telescope ( H S T ) , scanning electron and 3D fluorescence microscope images. T h e blind deconvolution mechanism i s based o n the Richardson-Lucy algorithm and alternates between deconvolution of the image and point spread func t ion ( P S F ) . This f o r m of iterative blind deconvolution di f fers f r o m that typically employed in that multiple P S F iterations are performed after each image iteration. T h e initial es t imate for the P S F is the autocorrelation of the blurred image and the edges of the image are windowed t o min imise wrap around artifacts. Acceleration techniques are employed t o speed restoration and results f r o m real H S T , electron microscope and 3D fluorescence images are presented.
