Hybrid linear/bilinear time-scale analysis

چکیده
We introduce a new method for the time-scale analysis of non-stationary signals. Our work leverages the success of the “time-frequency distribution series / cross-term deleted representations” into the time-scale domain to match wide-band signals that are better modeled in terms of time shifts and scale changes than in terms of time and frequency shifts. Using a wavelet decomposition and the Bertrand time-scale distribution, we locally balance linearity and bilinearity in order to provide good resolution while suppressing troublesome interference components. The theory of frames provides a unifying perspective for cross-term deleted representations in general. This work was supported by the National Science Foundation, grant no. Comparing 511 keV Attenuation Maps Obtained from Different Energy Mapping Methods for CT Based Attenuation Correction of PET Data
Introduction: The advent of dual-modality PET/CT scanners has revolutionized clinical oncology by improving lesion localization and facilitating treatment planning for radiotherapy. In addition, the use of CT images for CT-based attenuation correction (CTAC) decreases the overall scanning time and creates a noise-free attenuation map (6map). CTAC methods include scaling, s...
متن کاملRealization Theory For Linear and Bilinear Hybrid Systems
The paper deals with the realization theory of linear and bilinear hybrid systems, i.e. hybrid systems with continuous dynamics determined by linear ( respectively bilinear ) control systems. We will formulate necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a linear (bilinear ) hybrid system realizing the specified input/output maps. We will also present a characterization of a minimal...

متن کاملHybrid Lineanquadratic Time-frequency Attributes
We present an efficient method for robustly calculating time-frequency attributes of a signal, including instantaneous mean frequency, bandwidth, and kurtosis. Most current approaches involve a costly intermediate step of computing a (highly oversampled) 2-d bilinear time-frequency representation (TFR), which is then collapsed to the I-d attribute. Using the principles of hybrid linearhilinear ...

In this paper, the co-design of continuous-variable controllers and discrete-event switching logics, both in state feedback form, for discrete-time switched linear control systems is investigated. Sufficient synthesis conditions for this co-design problem are proposed here in the form of bilinear matrix inequalities, which is based on the argument of multiple Lyapunov functions. The closed-loop...
