چکیده
A 57 year old, diabetic female presented in emergency department with atypical chest pain. Her physical examination was unremarkable. Routine blood and urine biochemistry were within normal limits. Electrocardiogram showed left bundle branch block, with nonspecific ST-T changes. Chest X-ray and 2D-echocardiogram revealed no abnormality. Coronary angiography demonstrated existence of only left anterior descending artery (LAD) with a large diagonal branch and absent left circumflex artery (Fig. 1). The right coronary artery was superdominant and continued beyond crux, along entire length of left atrioventricular groove, between left atrium and left ventricle, to supply posterior and lateral aspect of left ventricle (Fig. 2).

Congenital Absence of Left Circumflex Coronary Artery
Congenital absence of left circumflex artery is a rare congenital anomaly of the coronary arteries. The prevalence of the anomaly in different studies ranges from 0.6% to 1.3%. Of these, 80% are benign and asymptomatic and 20% are clinically important. We report a 56-year-old man presented with acute resting chest pain who was diagnosed as having acute anterolateral infarction accompanied by el...
متن کاملSingle dominant left coronary artery: An autopsy case report with review of literature
Coronary artery anomalous course is rare, reported incidence is approximately 0.3-1.3% of patients undergoing coronary angiography and approximately 1% of routine autopsy examinations. A single coronary artery is an unusual congenital anomaly where only one coronary artery arises from the aortic trunk from a single coronary ostium, supplying the entire heart. We describe here a rare case with a...
متن کاملClinical Implications of Congenital Absence of Circumflex Coronary Artery
Introduction: Coronary artery anomalies are rare clinical entities reported in 0.6% to 5.6% of diagnostic coronary angiographies. Anomalous origins of coronary arteries from distal segments are rarely reported. Presented herein is a coronary anomaly in which the circumflex artery (CX) originated as a continuation of the posterolateral branch of the right coronary artery (RCA) w...
متن کاملSuper-dominant right coronary artery, absent left circumflex artery and left anterior descending artery arising from right coronary sinus
Coronary artery anomalies are a diverse group of congenital disorders whose manifestations and pathophysiological mechanisms are highly variable, with a global incidence of 5.64% [1]. The classification of coronary anomalies is based on the abnormalities seen in one or more site of origin, course, termination and branches of the major coronary arteries. Some of these anomalies are common, while...
