چکیده
The ACS Survey of Galactic Globular Clusters, an HST Treasury Project, will deliver high quality, homogeneous photometry of 65 globular clusters. This paper introduces a new collection of stellar evolution tracks and isochrones suitable for analyzing the ACS Survey data. Stellar evolution models were computed at [Fe/H]= -2.5, -2.0, -1.5, -1.0, -0.5, and 0; [α/Fe]= -0.2, 0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, and 0.8; and three initial He abundances for masses from 0.1 to 1.8 M⊙ and ages from 2 to 15 Gyr. Each isochrone spans a wide range in luminosity from MV ∼14 Current Address: Astronomical Observatory, Volgina 7, 11160 Belgrade, Serbia Computational Research Division, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, MS 50F-1650, 1 Cyclotron Rd, Berkeley, CA 94720

On the UV Bright Phase of Metal-Rich Horizontal-Branch Stars
We consider the origin of the UV bright phase of metal-rich helium-burning stars, the slow blue phase (SBP), that was predicted by various earlier works. Based on improved physics including OPAL opacities, which is the same physics as was used in the construction of the new Yale Isochrones, we confirm the existence of the SBP. In addition to our grid of evolutionary tracks, we provide an analyt...
متن کاملstellaR: A Package to Manage Stellar Evolution Tracks and Isochrones
We present the R package stellaR, which is designed to access and manipulate publicly available stellar evolutionary tracks and isochrones from the Pisa low-mass database. The procedures for extracting important stages in the evolution of a star from the database, for constructing isochrones from stellar tracks and for interpolating among tracks are discussed and demonstrated. Due to the advanc...
متن کاملDatabase of Geneva stellar evolution tracks and isochrones for ( UBV ) J ( RI ) C JHKLL ′ M , HST - WFPC 2 , Geneva and Washington photometric systems
We have used an updated version of the empirically and semi-empirically calibrated BaSeL library of synthetic stellar spectra of Lejeune et al. (1997, 1998) and Westera et al. (1999) to calculate synthetic photometry in the (UBV)J (RI)C JHKLL M, HST-WFPC2, Geneva, and Washington systems for the entire set of non-rotating Geneva stellar evolution models covering masses from 0.4– 0.8 to 120–150 M...

We have computed 8, 10, and 12 Gyr isochrones and physically consistent models of zero-age red horizontal branch stars for stellar masses between 0.55 and 1.3 M , all at [Fe/H] = +0:15. Comparison to the NGC 6791 BVI photometry of Ka lu_ zny & Udalski (1992, Acta Astron., 42, 29) and Montgomery, Janes & Phelps (1994, AJ, 108, 585) yields an age of 10:0 0:5 Gyr at an apparent distance modulus 13...
متن کاملConstraints on the Distance Moduli, Helium and Metal Abundances, and Ages of Globular Clusters from Their Rr Lyrae and Non-variable Horizontal-branch
Up-to-date isochrones, zero-age horizontal branch (ZAHB) loci, and evolutionary tracks for core Heburning stars are applied to the color-magnitude diagrams (CMDs) of M3, M15, and M92, focusing in particular on their RR Lyrae populations. Periods for the aband c-type variables are calculated using the latest theoretical calibrations of log Pab and log Pc as a function of luminosity, mass, effect...
