چکیده

From a theoretical viewpoint, the vocal folds vibration affects the vocal tract transfer characteristics through nonlinear time-varying interaction between the glottis and vocal tract. Therefore, it is crucial to investigate and model such e ects in order to improve voice quality in parametric rule-based speech synthesis systems. In this paper, we rst conducted analytic experiments on the vocal folds vibration e ects on the appeared in formant energy damping patterns and then modeled them by a nonlinear 2nd order di erential equation for speech synthesis. At last, we con rmed the feasibility of the nonlinear model by speech wave reconstruction experiments.

Voice synthesis usingthe generalized pressure-Controlled valve

Vowel production in human speech depends both on the vocal tract shape, primarily establishing formant frequencies in the speech spectrum, and the vibration of vocal folds in the larynx, which function as a pressure-controlled valve regulating airflow into the the vocal tract. This research explores the application of the generalized dynamic pressure-control valve model to the synthesis of voic...

Effect of thermoelastic damping in nonlinear beam model of MEMS resonators by differential quadrature method

This paper presents a nonlinear model of a clamped-clamped microbeam actuated by an electrostatic load with stretching and thermoelastic effects. The frequency of free vibration is calculated by discretization based on the Differential Quadrature (DQ) Method. The frequency is a complex value due to the thermoelastic effect that dissipates energy. By separating the real and imaginary parts of fr...

A Simple Nonlinear Model of Vocal Fold Dynamics for Synthesis and Analysis

In current speech technology, linear prediction dominates. The linear vocal tract model is well justified biomechanically, and linear prediction is a simple and well understood signal processing task. However, it has been established that, in voiced sounds, the vocal folds exhibit a high degree of nonlinearity. Hence there exists the need for an approach to modelling the behaviour of the vocal ...
