Network Orientation Models for Image-based 3d Measurement
نویسنده
چکیده
Network orientation is a fundamental step in image-based 3D measurement. This paper aims to offer insights into network orientation by considering developments in analytical close-range photogrammetry during its evolution from a film-based to digital image-based measurement technology suited to full process automation. A brief mathematical background to orientation models derived via perspective projection and projective geometry is first presented, and the issue of generating initial values for image orientation parameters is highlighted. Developments in network orientation processes for close-range photogrammetry are then reviewed and the potential of utilising linear models from projective geometry in the photogrammetric orientation process is discussed. The state of the art in network orientation for close-range photogrammetry is indicated by way of the discussion.

Online social networks like Instagram are places for communication. Also, these media produce rich metadata which are useful for further analysis in many fields including health and cognitive science. Many researchers are using these metadata like hashtags, images, etc. to detect patterns of user activities. However, there are several serious ambiguities like how much reliable are these informa...
متن کاملStochastic reconstruction of carbon fiber paper gas diffusion layers of PEFCs: A comparative study
A 3D microstructure of the non-woven gas diffusion layers (GDLs) of polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs) is reconstructed using a stochastic method. For a commercial GDL, due to the planar orientation of the fibers in the GDL, 2D SEM image of the GDL surface is used to estimate the orientation of the carbon fibers in the domain. Two more microstructures with different fiber orientations are g...

Fluid flow in jointed rock mass with impermeable matrix is often controlled by joint properties, including aperture, orientation, spacing, persistence and etc. On the other hand, since the rock mass is made of heterogeneous and anisotropic natural materials, geometric properties of joints may have dispersed values. One of the most powerful methods for simulation of stochastic nature of geometri...

This paper presents a general overview of notable developments in close-range photogrammetry (CRP) over the past four decades, during which time both automated processes were introduced and the full transition from film-based to digital imaging cameras occurred. With these developments and more recent innovations centred upon so-called structure-frommotion approaches to network orientation, alo...
