چکیده

In this paper, we introduce a restricted form of phrase structure grammar to handle the characteristics of Korean more eeciently. Based on this restricted form of the grammar, we propose a probabilistic parser for Korean sentences. To show usefulness of the parser proposed in this paper, we made a preliminary experiment. We extract a set of rules from about 1,682 tree annotated sentences. The experimental result shows about 88% in parsing accuracy.

Studying impressive parameters on the performance of Persian probabilistic context free grammar parser

In linguistics, a tree bank is a parsed text corpus that annotates syntactic or semantic sentence structure. The exploitation of tree bank data has been important ever since the first large-scale tree bank, The Penn Treebank, was published. However, although originating in computational linguistics, the value of tree bank is becoming more widely appreciated in linguistics research as a whole. F...

Combining Command-Respond Model and ToBI in Analyzing Second Language English Sentence Prosody

The paper combines the Fujisaki commandresponse model and the ToBI convention to analyze the English sentence prosody produced by American native speakers and Korean and Chinese English learners. The model parameters were extracted by FujiParaEditor for nine short sentences produced by three groups of speakers. The ToBI-tanscribed results were compared with the model parameters. Results show th...

Resolving Structural Transfer Ambiguity in Chinese-to-Korean Machine Translation

We propose a new prototype Chinese-to-Korean machine translation system called TOTAL-CK, a prototype transfer based MT system designed for the large-scale practical domain. TOTAL-CK consists of the components of analysis, transfer, and generation. In this paper, we mainly discuss the transfer issues resulting from stylistic structural differences between Chinese and Korean. The dependency gramm...

Korean prosody generation and artificial neural networks

To hear more natural synthetic speech generated by a Korean TTS (Text-To-Speech) system, we have to know all the possible prosodic rules in Korean language. We can extract these rules from linguistic, phonetic knowledge or by analyzing real speech. In general, all of these rules are integrated into a prosody-generation algorithm in TTS. But this algorithm cannot cover all the possible prosodic ...
