چکیده

Methods CMR imaging at 3T (Bio-graph mMR, Siemens Healthcare, Erlangen, Germany) was performed in 18 STEMI patients within 10 days of PPCI using T2-mapping and T1-mapping by MOLLI (WIP #699; Siemens Healthcare; UK). Matched short-axis T1 and T2 maps covering the entire left ventricle were analyzed by 2 experienced investigators using 3 analytical methods (in-house macro, ImageJ): manual segmentation, Otsu, and the 2 standard deviation (2SD) thresholding (Fig. 1). Regions-of-interest were drawn in the AAR and remote myocardium. Two investigators analyzed the coronary angiograms to obtain the BARI and APPROACH angiography scores to provide a CMR-independent estimate of the AAR.

T1 mapping and T2 mapping at 3T for quantifying the area-at-risk in reperfused STEMI patients

BACKGROUND Whether T1-mapping cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) can accurately quantify the area-at-risk (AAR) as delineated by T2 mapping and assess myocardial salvage at 3T in reperfused ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients is not known and was investigated in this study. METHODS 18 STEMI patients underwent CMR at 3T (Siemens Bio-graph mMR) at a median of 5 (4-6...

Age and sex corrected normal reference values of T1, T2 T2* and ECV in healthy subjects at 3T CMR

BACKGROUND Myocardial T1, T2 and T2* imaging techniques become increasingly used in clinical practice. While normal values for T1, T2 and T2* times are well established for 1.5 Tesla (T) cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR), data for 3T remain scarce. Therefore we sought to determine normal reference values relative to gender and age and day to day reproducibility for native T1, T2, T2* mapp...

Quantification of both the area-at-risk and acute myocardial infarct size in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction using T1-mapping

BACKGROUND A comprehensive cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) in reperfused ST-segment myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients can be challenging to perform and can be time-consuming. We aimed to investigate whether native T1-mapping can accurately delineate the edema-based area-at-risk (AAR) and post-contrast T1-mapping and synthetic late gadolinium (LGE) images can quantify MI size at 1.5...

Myocardial edema as detected by pre-contrast T1 and T2 CMR delineates area at risk associated with acute myocardial infarction.

OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to determine whether cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) in vivo T1 mapping can measure myocardial area at risk (AAR) compared with microspheres or T2 mapping CMR. BACKGROUND If T2-weighted CMR is abnormal in the AAR due to edema related to myocardial ischemia, then T1-weighted CMR should also be able to detect and accurately quantify AAR. METHODS Dogs (n =...

MOLLI T1 mapping versus T2 W-SPAIR at 3T: myocardial area at risk measurements and the influence of microvascular obstruction

Methods CMR imaging was conducted on a Philips 3T Achieva MRI scanner. T2W-weighted spectral attenuated inversion recovery (T2WW-SPAIR), modified look-locker inversion recovery (MOLLI) T1 mapping and late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) sequences were applied as short axis stacks in 10 healthy volunteers and 62 STEMI patients. Receiver operator characteristic (ROC) analysis was applied to calculat...
