چکیده

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) has grown to a popular communication technique for high speed communication in the last decade. OFDM is an important member of the multicarrier modulation (MC) techniques and it has been adopted as a standard for various high data rate wireless communication systems due to its spectral bandwidth efficiency, robustness to frequency selective fading channels, etc. Although it is having many advantages it has two major drawbacks namely high PAPR and inter carrier interference (ICI). This paper is aimed to reduce the effect of PAPR and we proposed two techniques for the reduction of high Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) based on Clipping, Differential Scaling. keywords: Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), partial transmit sequences (PTS), peak-toaverage power ratio(PAPR), selected mapping (SLM), tone reservation (TR), inter carrier interference (ICI), Companding, Active constellation, Multi carrier(MC).

PAPR reduction in OFDM systems using Customized Convex optimization in Differential Scaling

In this paper, an efficient method for minimizing the high Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR), based on Clipping and Differential Scaling, in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) systems is proposed. In this technique, the amplitude of complex OFDM signal is clipped and then scaled in such a way so that the PAPR is reduced without causing much degradation in Bit Error Rate (BER). C...

Reduction of PAPR in SFBC-OFDM System Using Clipping and Differential Scaling

Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) is a well-known technique for transmission of high rate data over broadband frequency-selective channels that mitigates intersymbol interference (ISI) caused by the delay spread of wireless channels. Space Frequency Block Coded technique (SFBC) is a spatial diversity technique used to achieve full transmission diversity with higher capacity. The...

Selective Tone Reservation Method for PAPR Reduction of Spatially Multiplexed OFDM Systems

Tone Reservation (TR) is one of the well-known methods for PAPR reduction of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) systems. In this method some sub-carriers are reserved for PAPR reduction and the symbols in these sub-carriers are selected such that the PAPR of the OFDM frame is minimized. In this paper, the iterative algorithm introduced earlier for TR method in single antenna OFDM...

Selective Tone Reservation method for PAPR reduction in SFBC-OFDM systems

The high Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and MIMO-OFDM systems reduces the system efficiency. In this paper, an extension of Tone Reservation (TR) method is introduced for PAPR reduction in Space Frequency Block Coded OFDM (SFBC-OFDM) systems. The proposed algorithm is based on a time domain kernel which is added to the signal of the anten...
