a r t t t o t t e b p he Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) created the Active Living by Design (ALbD) national program to address a serious need in he field of chronic disease prevention: to increase the mount of daily physical activity in which Americans ngage by facilitating opportunities for physical activity n their everyday lifestyles and environments. In this ommentary, we outline the context in which this ational program was developed as well as its initial ims, development, evolution to date, and legacy.
