Two complementary patterns to build multi-expert systems
نویسنده
چکیده
The purpose of this paper is to present two complementary patterns to build multi-expert systems, that is systems that need to integrate large, heterogeneous specialized modules, and implement complex, non deterministic control strategies. The rst pattern summarizes the blackboard pattern presented in [1]. The second pattern builds on the model of dynamic control where a blackboard system has a repertoire of independent domain and control knowledge sources, a control plan expressing the system's desirable behavior, and a meta-controller that chooses at each point in time the currently enabled knowledge source that best matches the control plan. A system implementing this architectural pattern is able to dynamically change its control strategies as a response to unpredictable events. Area: Control in complex, dynamic systems

Bi-objective Build-to-order Supply Chain Problem with Customer Utility
Taking into account competitive markets, manufacturers attend more customer’s personalization. Accordingly, build-to-order systems have been given more attention in recent years. In these systems, the customer is a very important asset for us and has been paid less attention in the previous studies. This paper introduces a new build-to-order problem in the supply chain. This study focuses on bo...
متن کاملMulti-perspective Decision Support System for Hierarchical Bus Transportation Network Design: Tehran Case Study
In this paper, a multi-perspective decision support system (MP-DSS) to design hierarchical public transportation network is developed. Since this problem depends on different perspectives, MP-DSS consists of two sub-systems with macro and micro sub-systems based on travel information, land use and expert knowledge. In the micro sub-system, two sub-modules are developed considering o...
متن کاملUtilising urban context recognition and machine learning to improve the generalisation of buildings
The introduction of automated generalisation procedures in map production systems requires that generalisation systems are capable of processing large amounts of map data in acceptable time and that cartographic quality is similar to traditional map products. With respect to these requirements, we examine two complementary approaches that should improve generalisation systems currently in use b...
متن کاملTowards a High-Level Hybrid System of Neural Classifiers
Neural Networks and Expert Systems are two complementary approaches to building intelligent systems. Neural Networks lend themselves naturally to learning, but can be quite obscure as to their basis for the mapping they make of input patterns and output responses. Expert Systems, on the other hand, are particularly attractive in terms of being able to explain the basis for the diagnosis. This t...
متن کاملComparative analysis of design/build and design/bid/build project delivery systems in Lebanon
Design/bid/build and design/build are two principal project delivery systems used worldwide. The performance of each project may differ with the type of procurement system used. This study has two aims: firstly, to assess and compare the performance of design/bid/build and design/build projects in Lebanon; secondly, to compare the results with the performance of equivalent systems in the Far Ea...
