Increased expression of granzymes A and B in fatal asthma.

چکیده
The granules of effector cytotoxic CD8 cells and natural killer (NK) cells contain a family of serine proteases called granzymes (granule-secreted enzymes) [5]. Granzymes are stored in the cytotoxic granules and require perforin to be delivered into the target cells to exert their cytotoxic function [5, 6]. Granzymes can also be released to the extracellular space and cleave extracellular matrix components, contributing to remodelling in chronic inflammation [5, 6]. Granzyme (Gzm)A, the most abundant granzyme, can activate macrophages to secrete cytokines [6].

متن کاملInactivated Mycobacterium phlei inhalation ameliorates allergic asthma through modulating the balance of CD4+CD25+ regulatory T and Th17 cells in mice
Objective(s): Th2 response is related to the aetiology of asthma, but the underlying mechanism is unclear. To address this point, the effect of nebulized inhalation of inactivated Mycobacterium phlei on modulation of asthmatic airway inflammation was investigated. Materials and Methods: 24 male BALB/c mice were randomly divided into three groups: control group (Group A), asthma model group (G...
متن کاملPrevalence of Near Fatal Asthma and Related Risk Factors in Asthmatic Patients in Kerman
Background & Aims: Asthma is one of the most common diseases worldwilde that can be prevented with optimal access to medical care. Since there is no data about the prevalence of risk factors of death caused by asthma in our region, the present study was performed to determine the prevalence risk factors of fatal asthma in asthmatic patients. Methods: This study was done on 200 asthmatic patient...
متن کاملExpression of the Apoptosis Inhibitor Bcl-2 in Sputum Eosinophils in Patients with Asthma
Background and Objectives: Apoptosis of eosinophils is of significant value in assessing the airway inflammation in patients with asthma. Our purpose was to investigate the degree of expression of the Bcl-2 protein in sputum eosinophils during acute asthma exacerbation and its relationship with exacerbation severity. Materials and Methods: The study was carried out in Mostafa Khomeini Ho...
متن کاملImmune dysregulation in children with allergic asthma, a close relationship between IL-17 but not IL-4 or IFN-, and disease severity
Background : Allergic asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of airway that often determined with degrees of inflammation, hypersensitivity, bronchial constriction and airway changes. Th1, Th2 and Th17 cells are the main cells involved in the pathophysiology of asthma. . Therefore, this study evaluated Th1, Th2, and Th17 cells functions by assessment the expression of INF-g, IL-4, and IL-17 g...
