چکیده
In this paper, we study Raychaudhuri's equation in the background of R + βR 2 gravity with a phenomenological matter (ρ ∝ a(t) −n). We conclude that even though the Strong Energy Condition (S.E.C.) for Einstein's gravity, which guarantees singularity, is n ≥ 2 for ρ ∝ a(t) −n , a perturbative analysis of Raychaudhuri's equation in the background of R+βR 2 gravity reveals that the big bang singularity may not be guaranteed for n > 4. We derive the following Strong Energy Conditions for R + βR 2 (β = 0):

Non-singular Spherically Symmetric Solution in Einstein-scalar-tensor Gravity
A static spherically symmetric metric in Einstein-scalar-tensor gravity theory with a scalar field potential V [φ] is non-singular for all real values of the coordinates. It does not have a black hole event horizon and there is no essential singularity at the origin of coordinates. The weak energy condition ρφ > 0 fails to be satisfied for r . 1.3rS (where rS is the Schwarzschild radius) but th...
متن کاملNewton Law in Brane-World Scenario with 4d Induced Gravity: Singular Quantum Mechanical Approach
From the viewpoint of the singular quantum mechanics the effect of the energy-dependent coupling constant for δ-function potential is examined. The energy-dependence of the coupling constant naturally generates the timederivative in the boundary condition of the Euclidean propagator. This is explicitly confirmed by making use of the simple 1d model. The result is applied to the linearized gravi...
متن کاملGlobal monopoles and massless dilatons in Einstein-Cartan gravity
A global monopole in dilatonic Einstein-Cartan gravity is presented. A linearized solution representing a global monopole interacting with a massless dilaton is found where Cartan torsion does not interact with the monopole Higgs field.Computation of the geodesic equation shows that the monopole-dilaton system generates a repulsive gravitational field. The solution is shown to break the linear a...
متن کاملModeling environmental indicators for land leveling, using Artificial Neural Networks and Adaptive Neuron-Fuzzy Inference System
Land leveling is one of the most important steps in soil preparation and cultivation. Although land leveling with machines requires considerable amount of energy, it delivers a suitable surface slope with minimal soil deterioration as well as damage to plants and other organisms in the soil. Notwithstanding, in recent years researchers have tried to reduce fossil fuel consumption and its delete...
