چکیده

The imaging component of the Airborne Integrated Mapping System (AIMS), developed at The Center for Mapping at The Ohio State University, is currently based on a high-resolution Charge-Coupled Device (CCD), a solid-state imaging sensor, which captures 4K by 4K panchromatic imagery. The use of direct digital image data, as well as the relatively new exploitation of the exterior orientation, which is computed directly from positioning sensor data itself, raise many questions concerning the entire photogrammetric data reduction process, including data quality and accuracy aspects. This paper investigates these problems in context of DEM extraction. Based on the results of several test flights, DEMs have been extracted in softcopy environment using different digital photogrammetric systems. Comparison analysis included reference DEMs obtained by traditional aerial surveys and by a LIDAR system.

Combining High Resolution Satellite Imagery and Airborne Laser Scanning Data for Generating Bareland Dem in Urban Areas

This paper proposes a framework for generating bare-land Digital Elevation Model (DEM) in urban areas by combining highresolution satellite imagery and Airborne Laser Scanning (ALS) data. Airborne laser scanners offer an efficient approach for 3D data acquisition. ALS data provides very accurate position and height information, but less direct information on ground objects’ geometrical shape, m...

Building Detection from High Resolution Digital Elevation Models in Urban Areas

This paper describes an algorithm which aims at deriving digital terrain models (DTM) from dense digital elevation models (DEM). This algorithm takes place in a processing chain for building detection and modelling in urban areas from high resolution aerial imagery. DEM either come from stereophotogrammetry, or from direct measures such as airborne laser data. DTM are computed as low order freq...

Digital surface model extraction with high details using single high resolution satellite image and SRTM global DEM based on deep learning

The digital surface model (DSM) is an important product in the field of photogrammetry and remote sensing and has variety of applications in this field. Existed techniques require more than one image for DSM extraction and in this paper it is tried to investigate and analyze the probability of DSM extraction from a single satellite image. In this regard, an algorithm based on deep convolutional...

Evaluation of high resolution digital surface models for single tree extraction approaches in mixed forests

High resolution digital elevation models (DEM) are utilized in automatic extraction of single-trees in mixed forests. In this paper the digital surface models (DSM) provided from aerial images with resolutions of 8 cm and 20 cm and airborne laser scanning ALS data are investigated. The results showed a relative good representation of the tree crowns even in image-based DSM. However, increasing ...
