چکیده
This paper describes a 1D Matlab finite difference time-domain (FDTD) code with a graphical user interface for visualization of the time-domain electromagnetic response. The program animates time-domain reflection and transmission of a Gaussian plane wave through one or two homogeneous material slabs. ß2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. FDTD: solving 1+1D delay PDE
We present a proof of concept for adapting the finite-difference time-domain method (FDTD) for solving a 1+1D complex-valued, delay partial differential equation (PDE) that emerges in the study of waveguide quantum electrodynamics (QED). The delay term exists in both spatial and temporal directions, rendering the conventional approaches such as the method of lines inapplicable. We show that by ...
متن کاملComputer Modeling and Simulation of Ground Penetrating Radar using Finite Difference Time Domain Code
Modeling and simulation results of a system analysis of Ground Penetrating Radars (GPR) using Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) techniques are presented. Performance issues with GPRs need to be isolated in order to optimize of the radar’s ability to detect and identify buried objects. Using a system engineering approach, FDTD models were used to characterize the variables associated with the...
متن کاملCR1Dinv: A Matlab program to invert 1D spectral induced polarization data for the Cole-Cole model including electromagnetic effects
An inversion code has been constructed using Matlab, to recover 1D parameters of the Cole–Cole model from spectral induced polarization data. In a spectral induced polarization survey, impedances are recorded at various frequencies. Both induced polarization and electromagnetic coupling effects occur simultaneously over the experimental frequency bandwidth, and these become progressively more d...
متن کاملShader-based physical modelling for the design of massive digital musical instruments
Physical modelling is a sophisticated synthesis technique, often used in the design of Digital Musical Instruments (DMIs). Some of the most precise physical simulations of sound propagation are based on Finite-Difference TimeDomain (FDTD) methods, which are stable, highly parameterizable but characterized by an extremely heavy computational load. This drawback hinders the spread of FDTD from th...
متن کاملMatlab-Based Virtual Wedge Scattering Tool for the Comparison of High Frequency Asymptotics and FDTD Method
A novel MatLab-based diffraction tool for the investigation of scattered fields around a two-dimensional Perfectly Electric Conductor (PEC) wedge is introduced. Analytical (Exact by Integral, as well as some High Frequency Asymptotic (HFA) techniques) and numerical (Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD)) models are included. The FDTD staircase modeling problems are removed by the application of ...
