Reconstruction of Lamé Moduli and Density at the Boundary Enabling Directional Elastic Wavefield Decomposition

چکیده
Abstract. We consider the inverse boundary value problem for the system of equations describing elastic waves in isotropic media on a bounded domain in R via a finite-time Laplace transform. The data is the dynamical Dirichlet-to-Neumann map. More precisely, using the full symbol of the transformed Dirichlet-to-Neumann map viewed as a semiclassical pseudodifferential operator, we give an explicit reconstruction of both Lamé parameters and the density, as well as their derivatives, at the boundary. We also show how this boundary reconstruction leads to a decomposition of incoming and outgoing waves.

Free Axisymmetric Bending Vibration Analysis of two Directional FGM Circular Nano-plate on the Elastic Foundation
In the following paper, free vibration analysis of two directional FGM circular nano-plate on the elastic medium is investigated. The elastic modulus of plate varies in both radial and thickness directions. Eringen’s theory was employed to the analysis of circular nano-plate with variation in material properties. Simultaneous variations of the material properties in the radial and transverse di...
متن کاملThe direct Method of Fundamental Solutions and the inverse Kirsch-Kress Method for the reconstruction of elastic inclusions or cavities
In this work we consider the inverse problem of detecting inclusions or cavities in an elastic body, using a single boundary measurement on an external boundary. We discuss the identifiability questions on shape reconstruction, presenting counterexamples for Robin boundary conditions or with additional unknown Lamé parameters. Using the method of fundamental solutions (MFS) we adapt a method in...

Seismic exploration is one of the main geophysical methods to extract quantitative inferences about the Earth’s interior at different scales from the recording of seismic waves near the surface. Main applications are civil engineering for cavity detection and landslide characterization, site effect modelling for seismic hazard, CO2 sequestration and nuclearwaste storage, oil and gas exploration...
متن کاملA THEORETICAL STUDY OF ZEOLITE ABW: ITS MECHANICAL AND AUXETIC PROPERTIES.
Atomistic simulations are carried out for zeolite with ABW framework. The structure is modeled and force field simulations are preformed to investigate its elastic properties, bulk, shear modulus and auxeticity. Bulk moduli (Ks), Shear moduli (G), and Poissons ratios (ν) were found to be Ks=79.71725 GPa, G=16.93265 GPa, νxy = -0.2207, νxz= -0.5730, νyx= -0.71717, νyz=0.87013, νzx= -0.33097 and ...

Multicomponent data usually are not processed with specifically designed procedures but with procedures analogous to those used for single-component data. In isotropic media, the vertical and horizontal components of the data commonly are taken as proxies for the Pand S-wave modes, which are imaged independently with the acoustic wave equations. This procedure works only if the vertical and hor...
