Aortic Anastomotic Pseudoaneurysm. a Complication of Abdominal Aortic Surgery

چکیده
The current methods of treatment for aorto-iliac obstruction are well established. Despite the progress in the surgical treatment of aorto-iliac obstruction, early and late postoperative complications continue to occur in a considerable number of patients. The infection of the aortic graft is considered the most serious complication of aortic reconstructive surgery, leading to the development of anastomotic pseudoaneurysm or aorto-enteric fistula, with disastrous consequences.1,2 Though a rare occurrence, the aortic anastomotic aneurysm accounts for high morbidity and mortality rates (20-50%).3-5

Embolization with Histoacryl Glue of an Anastomotic Pseudoaneurysm following Surgical Repair of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm
We report a 62-year-old female who had surgical repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm with a bifurcated graft 2 years ago. She presented with a distal anastomotic pseudoaneurysm which was successfully embolized with histoacryl glue. Only one such similar case has been reported in the literature so far (Yamagami et al. (2006)).

Para-anastomotic aneurysms are either true aneurysms or pseudoaneurysms. The latter tend to be asymptomatic until rupture. Para-anastomotic aneurysms should be approached surgically, despite the high morbidity and mortality associated with their treatment. This report describes the case of a 68-year-old woman who presented with a paraanastomotic pseudoaneurysm secondary to infrarenal aortic ane...
