چکیده
UNLABELLED Mismatch Negativity (MMN) is used to evaluate the central auditory system. AIM to characterize the MMN, in normal subjects. MATERIALS AND METHODS prospective study, 12 subjects, six males and six females, between the ages of 18 and 24. "Mann-Whytnei" test. EXAMS: Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA), Tympanometry, Otoacoustic Emissions and Short and Long Latency Auditory Potentials (MMN). RESULTS in MMN variable amplitude, the mean value was of -2.757 microV and -3.548 microV, CZA1 and CZA2; of 1.435 microV and -1.867 microV, CZA1 and CZA2. In variable and medium latency, we found in 150.7ms and 153.2ms, CZA1 and CZA2; in 170.4ms and 184.0ms, CZA1 and CZA2 - for females and males respectively. CONCLUSION related to latency, there was significant statistical difference between the genders in relation to CZA1 and CZA2; and it was lower for females and higher for males.

Processing of English words with fine acoustic contrasts and simple tones: a mismatch negativity study.
The purpose of this study was to compare the robustness of the event-related potential (ERP) response, called the mismatch negativity (MMN), when elicited by simple tone stimuli (differing in frequency, duration, or intensity) and speech stimuli (CV nonword contrast /de:/ vs. /ge:/ and CV word contrast /del/ vs. /gel/). The study was conducted using 30 young adult subjects (Groups A and B; n = ...
متن کاملMismatch negativity and late discriminative negativity in sleeping human newborns.
Event-related potentials were recorded from sleeping newborns to compare amplitudes and latencies of mismatch negativity (MMN) and late discriminative negativity (LDN) in active and quiet sleep stages. MMN and LDN were obtained in response to changes in semi-synthesized vowels from 20 healthy newborn infants. MMN and LDN responses were significant for both active and quiet sleep. The amplitude ...
متن کاملSubtitled videos and mismatch negativity (MMN) investigations of spoken word processing.
The purpose of this study was to determine whether the presence of subtitles on a distracting, silent video affects the automatic mismatch negativity (MMN) response to simple tones, consonant-vowel (CV) nonwords, or CV words. Two experiments were conducted in this study, each including ten healthy young adult subjects. Experiment 1 investigated the effects of subtitles on the MMN response to si...
متن کاملVariable cerebral responses to equally distinct deviance in four auditory dimensions: a mismatch negativity study.
In this study we compared the amplitude, latency, and spatial distribution of the mismatch negativity (MMN), elicited by tones deviating in either frequency, intensity, stimulus-onset asynchrony (SOA) or location, and assessed inter- and intra-subject variability. Cross-dimensional comparisons were facilitated by adjusting the magnitude of deviance individually, so that the detection rates were...
متن کاملMismatch Negativity (MMN) response studies in elderly subjects.
UNLABELLED Mismatch Negativity is an endogenous potential which reflects the processing of differences incurred in the acoustic stimulus. AIM to characterize MMN responses in elderly subjects and compare with adult subjects. MATERIALS AND METHODS prospective study involving 30 subjects, 15 men and 15 women, aged between 60 and 80 years and 11 months. Statistical test: Mann-Whitney. The subj...
