چکیده

This paper introduces new tree-structured uniform-band and octave-band digital 'lter banks (FBs). These FBs make use of half-band IIR 'lters in the analysis FBs and FIR 'lters in the synthesis FBs. The resulting FBs are asymmetric in the sense that the analysis FB has a very low arithmetic complexity whereas that in the synthesis FB is higher. However, compared with other asymmetric FBs, the proposed ones have in many cases a lower overall arithmetic complexity and delay. The proposed FBs have magnitude distortion but no phase distortion; further, the aliasing components are either zero (uniform-band case) or approximately zero (octave-band case). The FBs are designed using linear and nonlinear programming. Design examples are included demonstrating the properties of the proposed 'lters banks. ? 2003 Published by Elsevier B.V.

Two-Channel IIR/FIR Filter Banks with Very Low-Complexity Analysis or Synthesis Filters: Finite Wordlength Effects

A new class of two-channel IIR/FIR filter banks was introduced in [1] with half-band IIR analysis filters and FIR synthesis filters. This type of filter bank features very lowcomplexity analysis filters and simultaneously a low overall complexity. In this paper, we consider finite-wordlength effects of these filter banks.

Near-perfect-reconstruction low-complexity two-band IIR/FIR QMF banks with FIR phase-compensation filters

In this paper, we present a novel approach for the design of near-perfect-reconstruction mixed allpass-/FIR-based two-band quadrature-mirror filter banks. The proposed design method is carried out in the polyphase domain, where FIR filters are employed for compensating the non-linear phase introduced by the allpass filters. In contrast to previous approaches in literature the FIR phase-compensa...

On the Design of Near-Perfect-Reconstruction IIR QMF Banks Using FIR Phase-Compensation Filters

In this paper we describe a novel approach for the design of near-perfect-reconstruction mixed FIR/ allpass-based quadrature mirror filter banks. The design is carried out in the polyphase domain, where FIR filters, obtained via simple closed-form expressions, are employed for compensating the non-linear phase introduced by the allpass filters. Starting from a generalized two-band structure, we...

Design and simulation of Filter Banks with Low Computational Complexity For Audio Applications

In this research, a design method for low complexity uniform and non-uniform filter banks is presented. These filter banks are targeted for audio and hearing applications. The design is based on using IIR allpass second order filters at the analysis stage. But since these filters will cause phase nonlinearity, which in turn cause distortion at the output, the synthesis stages of these filters a...

High-Speed Recursive Filter Structures Composed of Identical All-Pass Subfilters for Interpolation, - Circuits and Systems II: Analog and Digital Signal Processing, IEEE Transactions on

High-speed recursive filter structures for interpolation and decimation with factors of two, and quadrature mirror filter (QMF) banks with perfect magnitude reconstruction, are proposed. The structures are composed of identical all-pass subfilters that are interconnected via extra multipliers. For the case of interpolation and decimation filters, the overall transfer function corresponds in the...
