KLTOOL: A Mathematical Tool for Analyzing Spatiotemporal Data

نویسنده

  • Randy W. Heiland
چکیده

The quantitative analysis of low-dimensional chaotic dynamical systems has been an active area of research for many years. Up until now, most work has concentrated on the analysis of time series data from laboratory experiments and numerical simulations. Examples include Rayleigh-Bénard convection, Couette-Taylor fluid flow, and the Belousov-Zhabotinskii chemical reaction [Libchaber, Fauve & Laroche ’83], [Roux ’83] and [Swinney ’84].

A Web-Based Geovisual Analytical System for Climate Studies

Climate studies involve petabytes of spatiotemporal datasets that are produced and archived at distributed computing resources. Scientists need an intuitive and convenient tool to explore the distributed spatiotemporal data. Geovisual analytical tools have the potential to provide such an intuitive and convenient method for scientists to access climate data, discover the relationships between v...

Analyzing Groundwater Quality Data and Contamination Plumes with GWSDAT

The Groundwater Spatiotemporal Data Analysis Tool (GWSDAT) is a user-friendly, open source software tool used to analyze and report trends in groundwater quality monitoring data. GWSDAT is based on the open source statistical programming language R and Microsoft Excel. GWSDAT’s primary use is for interrogation and interpretation of groundwater monitoring data derived from contaminated sites. It...

Graph Clustering by Hierarchical Singular Value Decomposition with Selectable Range for Number of Clusters Members

Graphs have so many applications in real world problems. When we deal with huge volume of data, analyzing data is difficult or sometimes impossible. In big data problems, clustering data is a useful tool for data analysis. Singular value decomposition(SVD) is one of the best algorithms for clustering graph but we do not have any choice to select the number of clusters and the number of members ...

Application of Benford’s Law in Analyzing Geotechnical Data

Benford’s law predicts the frequency of the first digit of numbers met in a wide range of naturally occurring phenomena. In data sets, following Benford’s law, numbers are started with a small leading digit more often than those with a large leading digit. This law can be used as a tool for detecting fraud and abnormally in the number sets and any fabricated number sets. This can be used as an ...

Spatiotemporal Kriging with External Drift

In statistics it is often assumed that sample observations are independent. But sometimes in practice, observations are somehow dependent on each other. Spatiotemporal data are dependent data which their correlation is due to their spatiotemporal locations.Spatiotemporal models arise whenever data are collected across bothtime and space. Therefore such models have to be analyzed in termsof thei...
