Rapid identification of heterogeneous mixture components with hyperspectral coherent antiStokes Raman scattering imaging

چکیده
For the rapid analysis of complicated heterogeneous mixtures, we have developed a method to acquire and intuitively display hyperspectral coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) images. The imaging is performed with a conventional optical setup based around an optical parametric oscillator. Color coding each frame of the resulting hyperspectral data cube according to vibrational frequency results in a two-dimensional projection wherein each compound appears with a unique hue. We demonstrate the capabilities of this systemby recording a hyperspectral CARS data stack of a heterogeneousmixture composed of seven crystalline amino acids and subsequently identifying each of them by direct visual analysis of the colored projection. Sparse sampling for fast hyperspectral coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering imaging.
We demonstrate a method to increase the acquisition speed in coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) hyperspectral imaging while retaining the relevant spectral information. The method first determines the important spectral components of a sample from a hyper-spectral image over a small number of spatial points but a large number of spectral points covering the accessible spectral range a...

In this work, we demonstrate quantitative volume determination of chemical components in three dimensions using hyperspectral coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering microscopy, phase-corrected Kramers-Kronig retrieval of the coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering susceptibility and factorization into concentration of chemical components. We investigate the influence of the refractive index contra...

We report experimental data that indicate an anti-Stokes Raman emission, reminiscent of coherent antiStokes raman scattering. It originates from a wave mixing process between the incident laser light l and Stokes Raman light s generated by a surface enhanced Raman scattering SERS mechanism. The variation of anti-Stokes SERS spectra of single-walled carbon nanotubes, copper phthalocyanine, and p...

In this work, we demonstrate the applicability of coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) micro-spectroscopy for quantitative chemical imaging of saturated and unsaturated lipids in human stem-cell derived adipocytes. We compare dual-frequency/differential CARS (D-CARS), which enables rapid imaging and simple data analysis, with broadband hyperspectral CARS microscopy analyzed using an uns...

In this work, we have significantly enhanced the capabilities of the hyperspectral image analysis (HIA) first developed by Masia et al. 1 The HIA introduced a method to factorize the hyperspectral data into the product of component concentrations and spectra for quantitative analysis of the chemical composition of the sample. The enhancements shown here comprise (1) a spatial weighting to reduc...
