On the definition of physical temperature and pressure for nonextensive thermostatistics

چکیده
It is shown that a recent proposal to give physically meaningful definitions of temperature and pressure within Tsallis formalism for non-extensive thermostatistics leads to expressions which coincide with those obtained by using the standard Boltzmann formalism of Statistical Mechanics.

Enhanced sampling in numerical path integration: an approximation for the quantum statistical density matrix based on the nonextensive thermostatistics.
Here we examine a proposed approximation for the quantum statistical density matrix motivated by the nonextensive thermostatistics of Tsallis and co-workers. The approximation involves replacing the physical potential energy with an effective one, corresponding to a generalized nonextensive statistical ensemble. We examine the convergence properties of averages calculated using the effective po...
متن کاملThe Boltzmann temperature and Lagrange multiplier in nonextensive
We consider the relation between the Boltzmann temperature and the Lagrange multipliers associated with energy average in the nonextensive thermostatistics. In Tsallis’ canonical ensemble, the Boltzmann temperature depends on energy through the probability distribution unless q = 1. It is shown that the so-called ’physical temperature’ introduced in [Phys. Lett. A 281 (2001) 126] is nothing but...
متن کاملEarly Universe Test of Nonextensive Statistics
Within an early Universe scenario, nonextensive thermostatistics (NET) is investigated on the basis of data concerning primordial Helium abundance. We obtain first order corrections to the energy densities and weak interactions rates, and use them to compute the deviation in the primordial Helium abundance. After compare with observational results, a severe bound is stablished. PACS number(s): ...
متن کاملThermostatistics based on Kolmogorov–Nagumo averages: unifying framework for extensive and nonextensive generalizations
We show that extensive thermostatistics based on Rényi entropy and Kolmogorov–Nagumo averages can be expressed in terms of Tsallis nonextensive thermostatistics. We use this correspondence to generalize thermostatistics to a large class of Kolmogorov–Nagumo means and suitably adapted definitions of entropy. As an application, we reanalyze linguistic data discussed in a paper by Montemurro. 20...
متن کاملGeneralized symmetric nonextensive thermostatistics and q-modified structures
We formulate a convenient generalization of the q-expectation value, based on the analogy of the symmetric quantum groups and q-calculus, and show that the q ↔ q−1 symmetric nonextensive entropy preserves all of the mathematical structure of thermodynamics just as in the case of non-symmetric Tsallis statistics. Basic properties and analogies with quantum groups are discussed. PACS: 05.20.-y; 0...
