A competitive immunoenzymometric assay for albumin in urine.
نویسنده
چکیده
I describe a competitive immunoenzymometric assay for urinary albumin, with use of an immobilized albumin-thyroglobulin conjugate and an affinity-purified antibody. The assay is rapid, easy to perform, has a range of 0.5 to 78 mg/L, and is ideally suited for screening purposes. Higher concentrations may be assayed by further dilution of the urine sample. Results compare favorably with those of a commercially available radioimmunoassay kit.

متن کاملRapid, competitive enzymoimmunoassay for albumin in urine.
In this solid-phase competitive enzymoimmunoassay for albumin in human urine, antiserum to human serum albumin labeled with horseradish peroxidase (EC 1.11.1.7) is incubated with solid-phase-bound human serum albumin in the presence of sample or standard. Results obtained correlate well (r = 0.96) with those of an established fluoroimmunoassay. The present assay covers the range 0.9 to 200 mg/L...
متن کاملReactivity of urinary albumin (microalbumin) assays with fragmented or modified albumin.
BACKGROUND Controversy exists regarding occurrence and measurement of structural variants of albumin in urine. In this study, we examined cross-reactivity of in vitro modified albumins in assays for urine albumin (microalbumin). METHODS We analyzed albumin modified by reagents, trypsin, or physical treatments or differing in primary sequence (animal albumins) with an immunoturbidimetric assay...
متن کاملMonoclonal antibody-based immunoenzymometric assays of retinol-binding protein.
Retinol-binding protein (RBP) is a low-molecular-mass protein (21 kDa), easily filtered in renal glomeruli and very efficiently reabsorbed by the proximal convoluted tubules (PCTs). In PCT dysfunction, high concentrations of RBP are found in urine. Several methods have been used to determine RBP in serum or urine. We describe the production, selection, labeling, and utilization of anti-RBP mono...
متن کاملPlasma cortisol determination: radioimmunoassay and competitive protein binding compared.
A simple radioligand assay has been developed for measuring cortisol in plasma and urine. The antiserum was produced in rabbits by using cortisoi-21hemisuccinyl-bovine serum albumin as the antigen. The standard curve was linear from 0-1000 pg. A small aliquot of ethanol-precipitated plasma or urine is directly assayed. Interassay variability of 56 separate assays of a normal plasma pool during ...
