Direct detection of dark matter in SU(5)×U(1) supergravity

چکیده
We compute the scattering rates for the lightest neutralino χ1 in the forthcoming germanium (73Ge+76Ge) detector and a proposed lead detector (207Pb), within the framework of SU(5) × U(1) supergravity. We find that in only a small portion (<∼ 10%) of the parameter spaces of this class of models, are the rates in the germanium detector above the expected initial experimental sensitivity of 0.1 events/kg/day. However, a much larger portion (<∼ 40%) of the parameter spaces could be probed with an improved background rejection capability (0.01 events/kg/day) and/or a more sensitive detector (207Pb). Nonabelian dark matter with resonant annihilation
We construct a model based on an extra gauge symmetry, SU(2)X×U(1)B−L, which can provide gauge bosons to serve as weakly-interacting massive particle dark matter. The stability of the dark matter is naturally guaranteed by a discrete Z2 symmetry that is a subgroup of SU(2)X . The dark matter interacts with standard model fermions by exchanging gauge bosons which are linear combinations of SU(2)...
متن کاملDirect detection of neutralino dark matter in supergravity
The direct detection of neutralino dark matter is analysed in general supergravity scenarios, where non-universal soft scalar and gaugino masses can be present. In particular, the theoretical predictions for the neutralino-nucleon cross section are studied and compared with the sensitivity of dark matter detectors. We take into account the most recent astrophysical and experimental constraints ...
متن کاملLimits on SUSY Particle Spectra from Proton Stability and Dark Matter Constraints
It is shown that the combined constraints on the amount of cold dark matter and of proton stability produce a stringent upper limit on the gluino mass mg̃ (and hence on the lightest neutralino mass mχ0 1 ≃ mg̃/7 for a large class of gravity mediated supergravity unified models. One finds that for the minimal SU(5) model current data (Kamiokande) restricts mg̃ ≤ 400 GeV for a scalar soft breaking m...
متن کاملMixed Neutralino Dark Matter in Nonuniversal Gaugino Mass Models
We have considered nonuniversal gaugino mass models of supergravity, arising from a mixture of two superfield contributions to the gauge kinetic term, belonging to a singlet and a nonsinglet representation of the GUT group. In particular we analyse two models, where the contributing superfields belong to the singlet and the 75-dimensional, and the singlet and the 200-dimensional representations...
متن کاملLarge dark matter cross sections from supergravity and superstrings
We study the direct detection of supersymmetric dark matter in the light of recent experimental results. In particular, we show that regions in the parameter space of several scenarios with a neutralino-nucleon cross section of the order of 10 pb, i.e., where current dark matter detectors are sensitive, can be obtained. These are supergravity scenarios with intermediate unification scale, and s...
