چکیده

We propose three quantum algorithms to solve the 3-SAT NP-complete decision problem. The first algorithm builds, for any instance φ of 3-SAT, a quantum Fredkin circuit that computes a superposition of all classical evaluations of φ in a given output line. Similarly, the second and third algorithms compute the same superposition on a given register of a quantum register machine, and as the energy of a given membrane in a quantum P system, respectively. Assuming that a specific non–unitary operator, built using the well known creation and annihilation operators, can be realized as a quantum gate, as an instruction of the quantum register machine, and as a rule of the quantum P system, respectively, we show how to decide whether φ is a positive instance of 3-SAT. The construction relies also upon the assumption that an external observer is able to distinguish, as the result of a measurement, between a null and a non–null vector.

Quantum random walk search on satisfiability problems

Using numerical simulation, we measured the performance of several potential quantum algorithms, based on quantum random walks, to solve Boolean satisfiability (SAT) problems. We develop the fundamentals of quantum computing and the theory of classical algorithms to indicate how these algorithms could be implemented. We also discuss the development of quantum random walks and the principles tha...

BQIABC: A new Quantum-Inspired Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm for Binary Optimization Problems

Artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm is a swarm intelligence optimization algorithm inspired by the intelligent behavior of honey bees when searching for food sources. The various versions of the ABC algorithm have been widely used to solve continuous and discrete optimization problems in different fields. In this paper a new binary version of the ABC algorithm inspired by quantum computing, c...

Solving the Satisfiability Problem through Boolean Networks

$EVWUDFW. In this paper we present a new approach to solve the satisfiability problem (SAT), based on boolean networks (BN). We define a mapping between a SAT instance and a BN, and we solve SAT problem by simulating the BN dynamics. We prove that BN fixed points correspond to the SAT solutions. The mapping presented allows to develop a new class of algorithms to solve SAT. Moreover, this new a...

Shared and distributed memory implementations for parallel simulations of a quantum search algorithm to solve the 3-SAT problem

This article presents two parallel implementations for simulations of a new quantum search algorithm to solve the 3-SAT problem, by using shared-memory and distributedmemory approaches. Very large computing time are needed to perform the simulations of quantum computing algorithms to solve realistic problems, thus high performance computing approaches are the only viable option to compute resul...

A Constant Complexity Algorithm for Solving the Boolean Satisfiability Problem on Quantum Computers

In this paper we will present an algorithm for solving the Boolean satisfiability problem (SAT) or (K-SAT) on quantum computers, which runs in a constant number of steps; O(4), with any given number n of Boolean variables. We will show that in contrast to classical algorithms the ability of the algorithm to solve the problem increases as the number of variables increases.
