The reduction of rabies in dogs by means of the obligatory parenteral vaccination in Poland has resulted in th appearance of a new vector of rabies the red fox. Because traditional methods have become too expensive and ineffective therefore in 1993 oral vaccination of red foxes was introduced in Poland as a method of rabies eradication in wild animals.
