چکیده

According to the industrial requirement for optical imaging, particularly in microscopic imaging, resolution improvement is one of the most important issues. In digital microscopic imaging, resolution of an optical system is limited by both optical parameters such as light wavelength and the objective lens numerical aperture and by spatial sampling such as pixel size of charge-coupled device camera. Focused on exceeding these limits and improving the resolution of optical imaging, spatial control of light is useful. In this study, spatial control of illumination with sub-wavelength accuracy improves resolution in diffraction limited imaging; besides spatial control of imaging path with sub-pixel accuracy improves resolution determined by the spatial sampling. High-resolution image can be reconstructed by using multiple images acquired with spatial control of light. This paper includes theoretical discussions, numerical simulations, and experimental verifications of some techniques proposed in our related works.

Design and Manipulation 3D Imaging System by using Photodiode Grid

Introduction: Radiation imaging is one of the applicable methods in diagnostic medicine and nondestructive testing for industrial applications. In nondestructive 3D imaging, in addition to the radiation source, there is a requirement for a suitable detection system, data acquisition system, mechanical sections for moving objects, reconstruction algorithm and finally a computer for processing an...

Collimator-detector response compensation in molecular SPECT reconstruction using STIR framework

Introduction:It is well-recognized that collimator-detector response (CDR) is the main image blurring factor in SPECT.  In this research, we compensated the images for CDR in molecular SPECT by using STIR reconstruction framework. Methods: To assess resolution recovery capability of the STIR, a phantom containing five point sources along with a micro Derenzo p...

Methods to evaluate the performance of kilovoltage cone-beam computed tomography in the three-dimensional reconstruction space

Background: Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanners for image-guided radiotherapy are in clinical use today, but there has been no consensus on uniform acceptance to verify the CBCT image quality yet. The present work proposed new methods to fully evaluate the performance of CBCT in its three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction space. Materials and Methods: Compared to the traditional methods...

Performance of myocardial perfusion imaging using multi-focus fan beam collimator with resolution recovery reconstruction in a comparison with conventional SPECT

Objective: IQSPECT is an advanced high-speed SPECT modality for performing myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI), which uses a multi-focus fan beam collimator with resolution recovery reconstruction. The aim of this study was to compare IQSPECT compared with conventional SPECT interms of performance based on standard clinical protocols. In addition, we examined the concordance between convention...
