چکیده

There has recently been considerable interest in the possibility, both theoretical and practical, of invisibility (or “cloaking”) from observation by electromagnetic (EM) waves. Here, we prove invisibility, with respect to solutions of the Helmholtz and Maxwell’s equations, for several constructions of cloaking devices. Previous results have either been on the level of ray tracing [Le, PSS] or at zero frequency [GLU2, GLU3], but recent numerical [CPSSP] and experimental [SMJCPSS] work has provided evidence for invisibility at frequency k 6= 0. We give two basic constructions for cloaking a region D contained in a domain Ω from measurements of Cauchy data of waves at ∂Ω; we pay particular attention to cloaking not just a passive object, but an active device within D, interpreted as a collection of sources Department of Mathematics, University of Rochester, Rochester, NY 14627, USA. N ov 2 00 7 A Rigorous Analysis of High Order Electromagnetic

There is currently a great deal of interest in the invisibility cloaks recently proposed by Pendry et al. that are based in the transformation approach. They obtained their results using first order transformations. In a recent paper Cai et al. considered invisibility cloaks with high order transformations. In this paper we study high order electromagnetic invisibility cloaks in transformation ...

M ay 2 00 6 Notes on Conformal Invisibility Devices

As a consequence of the wave nature of light, invisibility devices based on isotropic media cannot be perfect. The principal distortions of invisibility are due to reflections and time delays. Reflections can be made exponentially small for devices that are large in comparison with the wavelength of light. Time delays are unavoidable and will result in wave-front dislocations. This paper consid...

Given a self-adjoint operator H0, a self-adjoint trace class operator V and a fixed Hilbert-Schmidt operator F with trivial kernel and co-kernel, using limiting absorption principle an explicit set of full Lebesgue measure Λ(H0, F) ⊂ R is defined, such that for all points of this set the wave and the scattering matrices can be defined unambiguously. Many well-known properties of the wave and sc...

Nonlinear Modeling, Analysis and Design of an Active Antenna in S Frequency Band

An active antenna for transmitter application in S frequency band is designed and analyzed using harmonic balance technique which is based on the nonlinear model of active devices. In this active antenna, the amplifier is integrated with the radiator which is a rectangular patch antenna. This patch antenna is analyzed employing full-wave momentum method. By applying nonlinear model of transisto...
