formed.Theexanthemaandtheeosinophiliadecreasedgradually until normalization was achieved on day 16. On day 19, vemurafenib therapy was discontinued, and within 7days thereafter, the feverhad improved, and theelectrolyte profile had normalized. Tumor assessment showed a major tumoral response. On day 29, vemurafenib treatment was restarted at half dose, leading within 21 days (day 50) to a relapse of hypokalemia and hypouricemia with acute urinary loss but without relapseof fever, exanthema, oreosinophilia.Vemurafenibtreatment was then definitively stopped, followed by normalization of electrolytic findings within 5 days. At that time, treatmentwithdabrafenib, anotherBRAF inhibitor, was started. At last follow-up 5months later, no adverse event had occurred.

Cold packs: effective topical analgesia in the treatment of painful stings by Physalia and other jellyfish.
A study has shown that, when applied to Physalia ("bluebottle") jellyfish stings, cold packs are effective as topical analgesia in the relief of mild-to-moderate skin pain. The application of ice also has been shown to be effective for topical analgesia in a number of other jellyfish stings, including by Cyanea ("hair jellyfish"), Tamoya sp. ("Moreton Bay stinger" or "fire jelly") and Carybdea ...
متن کاملA randomized, controlled field trial for the prevention of jellyfish stings with a topical sting inhibitor.
BACKGROUND Jellyfish stings are a common occurrence among ocean goers worldwide with an estimated 150 million envenomations annually. Fatalities and hospitalizations occur annually, particularly in the Indo-Pacific regions. A new topical jellyfish sting inhibitor based on the mucous coating of the clown fish prevents 85% of jellyfish stings in laboratory settings. The field effectiveness is unk...
متن کاملSkin and Systemic Manifestations of Jellyfish Stings in Iraqi Fishermen
BACKGROUND Jellyfish stings are common worldwide with an estimated 150 million cases annually, and their stings cause a wide range of clinical manifestations from skin inflammation to cardiovascular and respiratory collapse. No studies on jellyfish stings have been carried out in Basra, Iraq. OBJECTIVES To describe the immediate and delayed skin reactions to White Jellyfish (Rhizostoma sp.) s...

INTRODUCTION Jellyfish stings are the most frequently reported marine animal envenomation worldwide. However, data on jellyfish sting from Malaysia remains obscure due to inadequate research. METHODS We investigated the epidemiology, clinical features and treatment of patients presenting at the emergency department of Langkawi Hospital between January 2012 and December 2014. Secondary data on...
متن کاملLong-Term Fluctuations in Circalunar Beach Aggregations of the Box Jellyfish Alatina moseri in Hawaii, with Links to Environmental Variability
The box jellyfish Alatina moseri forms monthly aggregations at Waikiki Beach 8-12 days after each full moon, posing a recurrent hazard to swimmers due to painful stings. We present an analysis of long-term (14 years: Jan 1998- Dec 2011) changes in box jellyfish abundance at Waikiki Beach. We tested the relationship of beach counts to climate and biogeochemical variables over time in the North P...
