Navigation in non-uniform density social networks
نویسندگان
چکیده
Recent empirical investigations suggest a universal scaling law for the spatial structure of social networks. It is found that the probability density distribution of an individual to have a friend at distance d scales as P(d) ∝ d−1. According to this spatial property, a scale invariant friendship (SIF) network model is introduced to deal with the navigation problem with non-uniform population density. We prove that the time cost of navigation in the 2-dimensional SIF network is at most O(log n). We also show that SIF network is navigable when taking account of the information dimension, through a numeric experiment and theoretic analysis.

Novel Radial Basis Function Neural Networks based on Probabilistic Evolutionary and Gaussian Mixture Model for Satellites Optimum Selection
In this study, two novel learning algorithms have been applied on Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBFNN) to approximate the functions with high non-linear order. The Probabilistic Evolutionary (PE) and Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) techniques are proposed to significantly minimize the error functions. The main idea is concerning the various strategies to optimize the procedure of Gradient ...

The Introduction : Networking sites like Facebook or XING for instance provide individuals not only a technical platform to get together, but they enable users to articulate and make visible their own social networks. The purpose of this study was to comparise personality characteristics and loneliness of users and non-users of social networks among Lali Payam e Noor university students. Method...
متن کاملFeasibility of using statistical tests in evaluation of non-uniformity [Persian]
Introduction: Non-uniformity test is essentially the only required daily QC procedure in nuclear medicine practice. Noise creates statistical variation or random error in a flood image. Non-uniformity on the other hand does not have statistical nature and may be regarded as systemic error. The present methods of non-uniformity calculation do not distinguish between these two types of erro...
متن کاملPossible origin of efficient navigation in small worlds.
The small-world phenomenon is one of the most important properties found in social networks. It includes both short path lengths and efficient navigation between two individuals. It is found by Kleinberg that navigation is efficient only if the probability density distribution of an individual to have a friend at distance r scales as P(r) ∼ r(-1). Although this spatial scaling is found in many ...
متن کاملDetecting Overlapping Communities in Social Networks using Deep Learning
In network analysis, a community is typically considered of as a group of nodes with a great density of edges among themselves and a low density of edges relative to other network parts. Detecting a community structure is important in any network analysis task, especially for revealing patterns between specified nodes. There is a variety of approaches presented in the literature for overlapping...
