چکیده

The Cosmo.Lab project, financed by the European Community, has the object of developing AstroMD, a tool of visualization and analysis of astrophysical data. AstroMD responds to the requirements proposed by several research fields: data coming from cosmological simulations, from observational catalogues and extended objects like radiosources or clusters of galaxies. AstroMD exploits also the most advanced visualization technology, based on virtual reality, in order to build a leading edge instrument for scientific research. However it is a scalable software which can be used also on PCs or workstations. It is open-source and freely downloadable from the web site http://cosmolab.cineca.it.

AstroMD: a 3D visualization and analysis tool for astrophysical data

In this paper, we present AstroMD toolkit, a visualization and analysis software, specifically oriented to astrophysical data representation. The software give a 3D graphics representation of the data exploiting all the available information and making us of the immersive visualization techniques. One of the many AstroMD features is the educational aspect consisting in the possibility to create...

Astrophysical Data Analysis and Visualization Toolkit

AstroMD is a visualization software offering several capabilities specifically oriented to the cosmological analysis of three-dimensional structures. It was developed within the framework of the Cosmo.Lab project, financially supported by the European Community, which involves several European Astrophysical Institutions and the CINECA. This tool gives a 3D graphic representation of data, exploi...

An Integrated Procedure for Tree-Nbody Simulations: FLY and AstroMD

We present a new code allowing to evolve three-dimensional selfgravitating collisionless systems with a large number of particles N ≥ 10. FLY (Fast Level-based N-bodY code) is a fully parallel code based on a tree algorithm. It adopts periodic boundary conditions implemented by means of the Ewald summation technique. FLY is based on the one-side communication paradigm to share data among the pr...

AstroMD, a tool for Stereographic Visualization and data analysis for astrophysical data

Over the past few years, the role of visualization for scientific purposes has increased enormously. In Astronomy the visualization techniques are so frequently applied to analyze data that they now represent a fundamental part of the modern researches in Astronomy. Since the evolution of high performance computers, the models and the simulations based on particle methods, have assumed a great ...

Visi – A VTK - and QT - Based Open - Source Project for Data Visualization

In this paper, we present an open-source project, Visi for high-dimensional engineering and scientific data visualization. Visi is with state-of-the-art interactive user interfaces and graphics kernels based upon Qt (a cross-platform GUI toolkit) and VTK (an object-oriented visualization library). For an initialization of Visi, a preliminary window will be functioned by invoking Qt, and the ker...
