Assessment of the Accuracy of Real-time Continuous Glucose Monitoring and Its Correlated Factors in Critically Ill Patients
نویسندگان
چکیده
Methods From July 2014 to January 2015,22 patients were enrolled. All the subjects underwent RTCGMS(San MediTech) for five days. Capilllary glucose values through self-monitoring of blood glucose(SMBG)were input twice a day for adjustment. Meanwhile, arterial cannula was placed for arterial blood sampling. The value of RTCGMS,SGMB and arterial blood glucose(ABG) at the same time were recorded every 4 hours. Whether use vasoactive agents, glucocorticoids, continuous renal replacement therapy(CRRT),enteral nutrition(EN), parenteral nutrition(PN) or not were also recorded at the same point. The correlation of RTCGMS and SMBG, RTCGMS and ABG were analyzed by correlation analysis. The consistency was analyzed by Clarke error grid. Relative absolute difference(RAD) was used to assess the accuracy of RTCGMS, its correlated factors were also analyzed.

Association between admission hypomagnesemia mortality or mortality of critically ill patients in intensive care unit
Background: Up to now there is no study evaluating correlation between serum magnesium and morbidity or mortality in patients admitted in intensive care unit. The aim of this study is to determine the prevalence of hypomagnesemia in critically ill patients and to evaluate its association with organ dysfunction, hospitalization period and mortality. Methods: We conducted a retrospective trial ...
متن کاملPoint accuracy and reliability of an interstitial continuous glucose-monitoring device in critically ill patients: a prospective study
INTRODUCTION There is a need for continuous glucose monitoring in critically ill patients. The objective of this trial was to determine the point accuracy and reliability of a device designed for continuous monitoring of interstitial glucose levels in intensive care unit patients. METHODS We evaluated point accuracy by comparing device readings with glucose measurements in arterial blood by u...
متن کاملReal-Time Continuous Glucose Monitoring Shows High Accuracy within 6 Hours after Sensor Calibration: A Prospective Study
Accurate and timely glucose monitoring is essential in intensive care units. Real-time continuous glucose monitoring system (CGMS) has been advocated for many years to improve glycemic management in critically ill patients. In order to determine the effect of calibration time on the accuracy of CGMS, real-time subcutaneous CGMS was used in 18 critically ill patients. CGMS sensor was calibrated ...

There is no randomized study carried out in order to compare their pharmacokinetic parameters although midazolam, as a sedative, has been widely administered via continuous infusion as well as intermittent bolus doses in mechanically ventilated critically ill patients. We prospectively investigated the effect of these two principal methods on pharmacokinetic parameters in 23 of mentioned patien...
