Using Prepositions To Extend A Verb Lexicon
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper presents a detailed account of prepositional mismatch between our handcrafted verb lexicon and a semantically annotated corpus. The analysis of these mismatches allows us to re ne the lexicon and to create a more robust resource capable of better semantic predictions based on the verb-preposition relations.

متن کاملSemantic Encoding of Danish Verbs in SIMPLE - Adapting a Verb Framed Model to a Satellite-framed Language
In this paper we give an account of the representation of Danish verbs in the semantic lexicon model, SIMPLE. Danish is a satellite-framed language where prepositions and adverbial particles express what in many other languages form part of the meaning of the verb stem. This aspect of Danish – as well as of the other Scandinavian languages challenges the borderlines of a universal, strictly mod...

We describe the verb lexicon of OpenWordNet-PT, a wordnetlike resource for (mostly Brazilian) Portuguese and a series of experiments that we designed to extend its coverage. These experiments include checking online lists of most common verbs, checking corpora freely available such as the Bosque-UD (the Bosque corpus annotated with Universal Dependencies) and especially checking a dictionary of...
متن کاملA corpus-based two-level model of situation aspect
In this paper we will extend Smith’s (1997) two-component aspect theory to develop a two-level model of situation aspect in which situation aspect is modelled as verb classes at the lexical level and as situation types at the sentential level. Situation types are the composite result of the rule-based interaction between verb classes and complements, arguments, peripheral adjuncts and viewpoint...
