Steady state imaging of the thoracic vasculature using inversion recovery FLASH and SSFP with a blood pool contrast agent

چکیده
Background Although contrast-enhanced first-pass MRA (FP-MRA) is frequently used to visualize the thoracic vasculature, it may not be ideal for the assessment of the aortic root due to poor image quality and motion artifact. Bloodpool contrast agents remain within the intravascular space for several hours, allowing vessels to be imaged longer and therefore improving spatial resolution. The purpose of this study is to compare steady-state magnetic resonance angiography (SS-MRA) following injection of a blood-pool contras agent to first-pass MR angiography (FP-MRA) in adults with thoracic aortic disease.

The effect of inversion times on the minimum signal intensity of the contrast agent concentration using inversion recovery t1-weighted fast imaging sequence
Background :Inversion recovery (IR) pulse sequences can generate T1-weighted images with a different range of inversion time (TI) to suppress or null the signal intensity (SI) for a specified tissue. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effect of TI values on the concentration of the contrast agent, which leads to a minimum signal intensity, using an inversion recovery T1-weighted 3-dim...

Background: Ultrasmallsuperparamagnetic iron oxide (USPIO) nanoparticles are used as blood pool contrast agent for magnetic resonance angiography and perfusion imaging. Our aim in this study was to investigate the effect of the two coating types of iron oxide nanoparticles on the relationship between nanoparticles concentration and signal intensity (SI) in T1-weighted MR images. Methods : D...
متن کاملAnatomic assessment of pulmonary veins and left atrium - comparison of magnetic resonance angiography with gadoteric acid, the blood pool contrast agent B22956/1 and a non-contrast enhanced imaging approach
Methods We compared 3 different MRI methods. First a noncontrast enhanced T2-prep steady state free precession (SSFP)-sequence, second, a high resolution IR-SSFP sequence with the blood pool contrast agent B22956/1 and third, a breath hold IR-SSFP atriography using the extravascular contrast agent gadoteric acid. Fourteen healthy volunteers (B22956/1-IR-SSFP) and 20 consecutive patients (T2-pre...

This work developed a three-dimensional (3D) diffusion-prepared segmented steady-steady free precession (DP-SSFP) cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) sequence for black-blood (BB) thoracic aortic and carotid wall visualization. In 14 healthy volunteers, BB CMR of the thoracic aorta (n = 7) and carotid arteries (n = 7) was performed over 12 cm and 3 cm of transversal coverage, respectively, ...
متن کاملSteady-state magnetic resonance angiography of the thoracic vasculature in congenital heart disease using a blood pool contrast agent: evaluation of two different techniques
Background Although contrast-enhanced first-pass MRA (FP-MRA) is frequently used to visualize the vasculature, it may not be suitable for the assessment of congenital heart disease. Blood-pool contrast agents remain within the intravascular space for several hours, allowing vessels to be imaged without relying on accurate contrast bolus timing. The purpose of this study is to compare steadystat...
