Workshop on Dependability Issues on SDN and NFV (DISN)

چکیده
Software-Defined Networks (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) are two technologies that have already had a deep impact on computer and telecommunication networks. Software Defined Networks (SDN) decouple network control from forwarding functions, enabling network control to become directly programmable and the underlying infrastructure to be abstracted from applications and network services. Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is a network architecture concept where IT virtualization techniques are used to implement network node functions as building blocks that may be combined, or chained, together to create communication services. SDN and NFV make it simpler and faster to deploy and manage new services, avoiding the cost and the long time frame required to design and implement hardwarebased network services. Furthermore, these technologies allow the existing hardware infrastructure to be effectively used, as services can be (re-)allocated according to requirements, resources and load.

Message from the ManSDN/NFV workshop co-chairs
Welcome to the second International Workshop on Management of SDN and NFV Systems (ManSDN/NFV 2015)! Following a successful event in 2014, we are pleased to organize the workshop this year also and provide a venue for discussions on SDN and NFV management issues. We hope that, with its high-quality technical program and its pleasant setting, the workshop will stimulate profitable interaction am...
متن کاملCost Analysis of SDN/NFV Architecture over 4G Infrastructure
Two complementary architectures, software defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) are emerging to comprehensively address several networking issues. In this work, we introduce the most embraced virtualization concepts proposed by SDN and NFV architectures. We quantitatively evaluate hardware and energy cost savings with these two SDN and NFV architectures compared to ...
متن کاملA survey on impact of cloud computing security challenges on NFV infrastructure and risks mitigation solutions
Increased broadband data rate for end users and the cost of resource provisioning to an agreed SLA in telecom service providers, are forcing operators in order to adhere to employment Virtual Network Functions (VNF) in an NFV solution. The newly 5G mobile telecom technology is also based on NFV and Software Define Network (SDN) which inherit opportunities and threats of such constructs. Thus a ...

Cloud computing has transformed a large portion of the IT industry through its ability to provision infrastructure resources – computing, networking, storage, and software as services. Software-Defined Networking (SDN) has transformed the physical underlying network infrastructure into programmable and virtualized networks. Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) has transformed physical telecom...
متن کاملSoftware Defined Networking and Network Function Virtualization: bridging the world of virtual networks
Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) are two emerging and complementary concepts that can be considered as key players in the virtual networks world. In particular, SDN allows managing different network services through abstraction of higher-level functionality, while NFV leverages the use of virtualization technologies to virtualize specific network funct...
