Low Power Digital Frequency Conversion Architectures
نویسندگان
چکیده
State-of-the-art data communication systems make extensive use of digital hardware. Besides baseband modulation functions, also the frequency tuning functions are now being shifted from analog to digital implementation. Integration, cost and ease of programming are the primary motivations for doing this. This paper presents an alternative to the traditional digital frequency conversion architec-tures. The proposed architecture achieves low power as well as high speed operation, and achieves this dual goal by reducing programmability. A multi-rate ltering approach is used, which is applicable for both upconversion and downconversion of quadrature modulated data.

FPGA Implementation of a Hammerstein Based Digital Predistorter for Linearizing RF Power Amplifiers with Memory Effects
Power amplifiers (PAs) are inherently nonlinear elements and digital predistortion is a highly cost-effective approach to linearize them. Although most existing architectures assume that the PA has a memoryless nonlinearity, memory effects of the PAs in many applications ,such as wideband code-division multiple access (WCDMA) or orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM), can no longer b...

Personal Communications Services (PCS) require low-power radio technologies. One such transceiver architecture employing frequency-hopped spread-spectrum techniques is presented. System features such as antenna diversity with equal-gain combining and sequential hop combining are incorporated into the transceiver design to achieve robust wireless digital data transmission over fading channels. A...

A new structure is presented for digital delta-sigma modulator (DDSM). Novel architecture decreases hardware consumption, output quantization noise and spurs in Comparison to previous architectures. In order to reduce the delay, power consumption and increase maximum working frequency, the pipelining technique and the carry skip adder are used. Simulation proposed architecture shows that the qu...

Personal Communications Services (PCS) require low-power radio technologies. One such transceiver architecture employing frequency-hopped spread spectrum techniques is described. Low power and robustness are two keys to a wireless personal communications device. A frequency-hopped code-division multiple access (CDMA) scheme is chosen over other multiple access methods because it provides an inh...
متن کاملPipeline Analog-to-Digital Converters for Wide-Band Wireless Communications
During the last decade, the development of the analog electronics has been dictated by the enormous growth of the wireless communications. Typical for the new communication standards has been an evolution towards higher data rates, which allows more services to be provided. Simultaneously, the boundary between analog and digital signal processing is moving closer to the antenna, thus aiming for...
