چکیده

We examine the impact of transmit antenna selection with receive generalized selection combining (TAS/GSC) for cognitive decode-and-forward (DF) relaying in Nakagamim fading channels. We select a single transmit antenna at the secondary transmitter which maximizes the receive signal-tonoise ratio (SNR) and combine a subset of receive antennas with the largest SNRs at the secondary receiver. In an effort to assess the performance, we first derive the probability density function and cumulative distribution function of the end-to-end SNR using the moment generating function. We then derive new exact closed-form expression for the ergodic capacity. More importantly, by deriving the asymptotic expression for the high SNR approximation of the ergodic capacity, we gather deep insights into the high SNR slope and the power offset. Our results show that the high SNR slope is 1 2 under the proportional interference power constraint. Under the fixed interference power constraint, the high SNR slope is zero.

Capacity Bounds for AF Dual-hop Relaying in G Fading Channels

We investigate the ergodic capacity of amplify-andforward (AF) dual-hop relaying systems in composite Nakagamim/Inverse-Gaussian fading channels. This type of fading, which is known in the literature as G fading, has recently attracted increasing research interest thanks to its ability to better approximate the Nakagami-m/lognormal model compared to the Nakagami-m/gamma model. We study both fix...

Ergodic Capacity of Dual-hop Semi-blind AF Relaying over Composite Fading Channels using Mixture Gamma Distribution

Since the performance metrics of digital communication systems over composite multipath/ lognormal fading channels is intractable, a mixture gamma (MG) fading model is used to approximate Nakagami-lognormal (NL) fading model. By using MG fading model, the ergodic capacity of dualhop semi-blind amplify-and-forward relaying systems is investigated over independent non-identical composite NL fadin...

Ergodic and outage capacities of relaying channels in spectrum-sharing constrained systems

This paper investigates the capacity of multiple relay channels in different fading and shadowing environments under spectrum-sharing constraints. We consider that a secondary user (SU) is allowed to share the spectrum band with a primary user (PU) provided that the SU’s transmit power remains below an interference power threshold set by the PU. Considering a scenario where the SU’s transmitter...

Ergodic capacity of decode-and-forward relay strategies over general fast fading channels

Proposed is a novel ergodic capacity formula for decode-and-forward (DF) relaying over a very general fast fading channel model, i.e. the channel gains of the links follow independent but non-necessarily identically distributed Nakagami-m distributions. The proposed formula is validated by Monte Carlo simulations and can be computed efficiently. Since the considered channel model is very genera...

Dual-hop Fixed Gain Relaying Transmissions with Semi-Blind in Asym- metric Multipath/Shadowing Fading Channels

In this paper, we investigate the end-to-end performance of a dual-hop fixed gain relaying system with semiblind relay under asymmetric fading environments. In such environments, the wireless links of the considered system undergo asymmetric multipath/shadowing fading conditions, where one link is subject to only the Nakagami-m fading, the other link is subject to the composite Nakagami-lognorm...
