Efficiently comparing face images using a modified Hausdorff distance - Vision, Image and Signal Processing, IEE Proceedings-

چکیده

Comparing face images using the Hausdorff distance is one of the face matching and fast screening techniques. As a fast screening technique, the computational efficiency is a key issue. An efficient method for Hausdorff distance-based face matching and fast screening is proposed. The method utilises dominant points, instead of edge maps, as features for measuring similarity. A new formulation of Hausdorff distance is designed for significance-based dominant point matching. The experiments demonstrate that the proposed approach significantly improves the computational speed and storage economy. It provides a very efficient way to use the Hausdorff distance measure for face matching and fast screening.

Hybrid image matching combining Hausdorff distance with normalized gradient matching

Image matching has been a central problem in computer vision and image processing for decades. Most of the previous approaches to image matching can be categorized into the intensity-based and edge-based comparison. Hausdorff distance has been widely used for comparing point sets or edge maps since it does not require point correspondences. In this paper, we propose a new image similarity measu...

Processing time-correlated single photon counting data to acquire range images - Vision, Image and Signal Processing, IEE Proceedings-

The processing and analysis are described of range data in a time-of-flight imaging system based on time-correlated single photon counting. The system is capable of acquiring range data accurate to 1Opm at a standoff distance in the order of lm, although this can be varied substantially. It is shown how fitting of the pulsed histogram data by a combination of a symmetric key and polynomial func...

Compressed Image Hashing using Minimum Magnitude CSLBP

Image hashing allows compression, enhancement or other signal processing operations on digital images which are usually acceptable manipulations. Whereas, cryptographic hash functions are very sensitive to even single bit changes in image. Image hashing is a sum of important quality features in quantized form. In this paper, we proposed a novel image hashing algorithm for authentication which i...

A New Vision-Based and GPS-Signal-Independent Approach in Jamming Detection and UAV Absolute Positioning Assessment

The Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) positioning in the outdoor environment is usually done by the Global Positioning System (GPS). Due to the low power of the GPS signal at the earth surface, its performance disrupted in the contaminated environments with the jamming attacks. The UAV positioning and its accuracy using GPS will be degraded in the jamming attacks. A positioning error about tens of...

Facial Recognition using Hausdorff- Shape- Radon Transform

This paper proposes a robust method for face recognition with variant illumination, scaling and rotation. Techniques introduced in this work are composed of two stages. First, the feature of face is to be detected by the combined of Trace Transform and Fast Active Contour. Then, in the second stage, the Hausdorff distance and Modified Shape Context are employed to measure and determine of simil...
