چکیده

Symbolic data structures for multi-valued logics are useful in a number of applications, from model-checking to circuit design and switch-level circuit verification. Such data structures are referred to as decision diagrams, and are typically considered effective if they are small, i.e., common co-factors of a function are shared, and canonical, i.e., given a variable ordering, there is a unique decision diagram representing this function. In this paper we propose and evaluate a decision diagram variety, called Edge-Shifted Decision Diagrams (ESDDs). These diagrams are multi-valued, support structure sharing, and enjoy canonicity. We further list sufficient conditions to ensure canonicity of decision diagrams with unary edge transformers.

MDD with Added Null-Value and All-Value Edges Applied to Multi-Valued Domino Logic Gates

This paper presents a Multi-valued Decision Diagram (MDD) that has additional null-value and all-value edges. The MDD is based on a multivalued algebra that augments multi-valued variables to allow a null output value. A null output value represents the lack of any valid value for a given input combination (akin to an output don’t care, but its value cannot be changed). A side effect of the nul...

Chun-Myoung Park : SWITCHING FUNCTION USING EDGE-VALUED DECISION DIAGRAM

This paper presents a method of constructing the switching function using edge-valued decision diagrams. The proposed method is as following. The edge-valued decision diagram is a new data structure type of decision diagram which is recently used in constructing the digital logic systems based on the graph theory. Next, we apply edge-valued decision diagram to function minimization of digital l...

On the Construction of Multiple-Valued Decision Diagrams

Decision diagrams are the state-of-the-art representation for logic functions, both binary and multiple-valued. Here we consider ways to improve the construction of multiple-valued decisions diagrams (MDD). Efficiency is achieved through the use of a simple computed table. We compare the use of recursive MIN and MAX as primitive operations in multiple-valued decision diagram construction to the...

Implementing a Multiple-Valued Decision Diagram Package

Decision diagrams are the state-of-the-art representation for logic functions, both binary and multiple-valued. Here we consider issues regarding the efficient implementation of a package for the creation and manipulation of multiple-valued decision diagrams (MDDs). In particular, we identify issues that differ from binary decision diagram packages. We describe a matrix method for level interch...

Factored Edge-Valued Binary Decision Diagrams

Factored Edge-Valued Binary Decision Diagrams form an extension to Edge-Valued Binary Decision Diagrams. By associating both an additive and a multiplicative weight with the edges, FEVBDDs can be used to represent a wider range of functions concisely. As a result, the computational complexity for certain operations can be significantly reduced compared to EVBDDs. Additionally, the introduction ...
