A duality between LM-fuzzy possibility computations and their logical semantics

Let X be a dcpo and let L be a complete lattice. The family σL(X) of all Scott continuous mappings from X to L is a complete lattice under pointwise order, we call it the L-fuzzy Scott structure on X. Let E be a dcpo. A mapping g : σL(E) −> M is called an LM-fuzzy possibility valuation of E if it preserves arbitrary unions. Denote by πLM(E) the set of all LM-fuzzy possibility valuations of E. T...

A New Interpretation of the Semantics of "Moral Obligation" from Allame Tabatabaie's Viewpoint

The most important part in analyzing moral concepts includes those used as predicate in moral sentences covering moral concepts of valuation and obligation. Moral concepts in the field of values include those like “good” and “bad” while obligatory concepts include “ought to” and “ought no” and “duty”. Many papers have been written about “moral obligation”; however, dissociating the area of sema...

An algebraic perspective on valuation semantics∗

The class of so-called non-truth-functional logics constitutes a challenge to the usual algebraic based semantic tools, such as matrix semantics [ LS58]. The problem with these logics is the existence of noncongruent connectives that are not always interpreted homomorphically in a given algebra. The key idea of valuation semantics [dCB94], which arose precisely from the attempt to give some rea...

On the Semantics of Classical First-order Logic with Constructive Double Negation

Constructive negation in intuitionistic logic (called strong negation [7]) can be used to directly represent negative assertions, and for which its semantics [8, 1] is defined in Kripke models by two satisfaction relations (|= P and |= N ). However, the interpretation and satisfaction based on the conventional semantics do not fit in with the definition of negation in knowledge representation w...

A note on constructive semantics for description logics

Following the approaches and motivations given in recent works about constructive interpretation of description logics, we introduce the constructive description logic KALC. This logic is based on a Kripke-style semantics inspired by the Kripke semantics for Intuitionistic first order logic. In the paper we present the main features of our semantics and we study its relations with other approac...
