چکیده
Background We have previously estimated that the annual rate of accidental exposure (AE) to peanut in a Canadian cohort of 1411 children with peanut allergy, followed for 2227 patient-years, was 11.9% [1]. The cohort has increased to 1825 children, with 4134 patient-years of follow-up, and we determined the incidence of AE in this expanded cohort and described the severity, management, and location of the AE.

Accidental exposures to peanut in a large cohort of Canadian children with peanut allergy
BACKGROUND We previously estimated that the annual rate of accidental exposure to peanut in 1411 children with peanut allergy, followed for 2227 patient-years, was 11.9% (95% CI, 10.6, 13.5). This cohort has increased to 1941 children, contributing 4589 patient-years, and we determined the annual incidence of accidental exposure, described the severity, management, location, and identified asso...

METHODS From 2004 to November 2009, parents of Canadian children with a physician-confirmed peanut allergy completed entry and follow-up questionnaires about accidental exposures over the preceding year. متن کاملUtility of Specific IgE to Ara h 2 in Italian Allergic and Tolerant Children Sensitized to Peanut
Emerging data suggest that measurement of serum IgE to peanut components can be clinically helpful and more accurate than IgE to whole peanut to predict peanut allergy. Not all studies have used prospective samples, multiple components and oral challenges. Currently, there are no data on this topic involving Italian children. 32 patients (23 males; median age 9 years) with reported history for ...

OBJECTIVES To observe the nature and frequency of adverse reactions caused by accidental peanut exposure in young children with clinical peanut hypersensitivity and to determine the value of serum peanut-specific IgE levels during follow-up. STUDY DESIGN Eighty-three children with clinical peanut hypersensitivity diagnosed before their fourth birthdays were contacted yearly to track adverse p...
