چکیده
Dictyostelium discoideum amoebae can be induced to acquire a non-degradative resistance to the pea phytoalexin pisatin. The nysB sunD double mutant is blocked in the acquisition of this resistance. Using parasexual genetics it has been shown that sunD is a recessive mutation linked to nysB on linkage group VI.

EDTA a novel inducer of pisatin, a phytoalexin indicator of the non-host resistance in peas.
Pea pod endocarp suppresses the growth of an inappropriate fungus or non-pathogen by generating a "non-host resistance response" that completely suppresses growth of the challenging fungus within 6 h. Most of the components of this resistance response including pisatin production can be elicited by an extensive number of both biotic and abiotic inducers. Thus this phytoalexin serves as an indic...

Leguminosae, Lathyrus sativus, Phytoalexin, 6a-Hydroxypterocarpan, Pisatin Lathyrus sativus was investigated for the nature of its phytoalexin response with the result that leaflets, im mature pods, and seeds were induced to produce 6a-hydroxy-3-methoxy-8,9-methylenedioxypterocarpan (pisatin). Evidence is presented for the metabolism of pisatin, by the wound pathogen Botrytis cinerea, to a phe...
متن کاملNon-host Resistance: DNA Damage Is Associated with SA Signaling for Induction of PR Genes and Contributes to the Growth Suppression of a Pea Pathogen on Pea Endocarp Tissue
Salicylic acid (SA) has been reported to induce plant defense responses. The transcriptions of defense genes that are responsible for a given plant's resistance to an array of plant pathogens are activated in a process called non-host resistance. Biotic signals capable of carrying out the activation of pathogenesis-related (PR) genes in pea tissue include fungal DNase and chitosan, two componen...

Biosynthesis, 2H-NMR, Phytoalexin, Pisatin, Pterocarpan 2H-NMR analysis of the 6a-hydroxypterocarpan phytoalexin pisatin derived in CuCl2-treated pea [Pisum sativum) pods from [6,1 la -2H2]maackiain has demonstrated the retention of all 2H labels. This establishes that no pterocarp-6a-ene or pterocarp-6-ene interm ediate is involved, and thus confirms a direct 6a-hydroxylation mechanism for the...
متن کاملStructural basis for dual functionality of isoflavonoid O-methyltransferases in the evolution of plant defense responses.
In leguminous plants such as pea (Pisum sativum), alfalfa (Medicago sativa), barrel medic (Medicago truncatula), and chickpea (Cicer arietinum), 4'-O-methylation of isoflavonoid natural products occurs early in the biosynthesis of defense chemicals known as phytoalexins. However, among these four species, only pea catalyzes 3-O-methylation that converts the pterocarpanoid isoflavonoid 6a-hydrox...
