چکیده

MAteRiAlS AND MethODS: Since 2010, fat grafting was performed in 140 patients. Posttraumatic, postoperative, and postirradiated contour deformities were treated in 74 cases (breast, 31; head and neck, 27; and other localizations, 16). In 61 patients, fat was injected to promote chronic wound healing (venous ulcers, 22; diabetic ulcers, 17; radiation wounds, 16; and other etiology, 6). Adipose-derived stromal vascular fraction (SVF) injection was utilized in 11 patients: knee joint osteoarthritis, 7; radiation rectovaginal fistula, 2; rectum radiation wound, 1; and right leg chronic wound (Wegener’s granulomatosis), 1. Fat was harvested by liposuction. Lipoaspirate was centrifuged with 1200g during 3 minutes. Liquid fraction and oil were removed. Coleman type 1 and 3 cannulas of 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, 1.6, and 2.0 mm diameter were used to inject purified fatty tissue. Occasionally sharp needle was used. Digestion with collagenase type II was performed to isolate stromal-vascular cell fraction. Stromal cell sediment was then resuspended in a saline solution and injected with sharp 18to 27-gauge needles. A small sample was taken out of the obtained cells to characterize final product by means of flow cytometry. Conventional treatment methods were used in all cases before experimental technique was applied.

Adipose derived stromal vascular fraction improves early tendon healing: an experimental study in rabbits

Tendon never restores the complete biological and mechanical properties after healing. Bone marrow and recently adipose tissue have been used as the sources of mesenchymal stem cells, which have been proven to enhance tendon healing. Stromal vascular fraction (SVF), derived from adipose tissue by an enzymatic digestion, represents an alternative source of multipotent cells, which undergo differ...

Effects of Uncultured Adipose Derived Stromal Vascular Fraction on Tendon Healing in Rabbits: A Histological and Immunohistochemical Study

Objective- To evaluate the potential effects of uncultured adipose derived stromal vascular fraction on tendon healing. Design- Prospective descriptive study. Animals- Twenty five adult male New Zealand white rabbits, weighing 2.5-3.0 kg were used. Five rabbits were used as donors of adipose tissue and the rest were divided into control and treatment groups. Procedures- The injury model was ...

Human adipose tissue-derived stem cells in breast reconstruction following surgery for cancer: A controversial issue

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. Patients, in particular young women, after surgical removal of the tumor have a poorer quality of life and psychological problems. Plastic surgery procedures for breast reconstruction, including autologous fat grafting, concur to reduce cosmetic and psychological problems. The maintenance of the transplanted fat is partially due to the presence ...

Development of a System and Method for Automated Isolation of Stromal Vascular Fraction from Adipose Tissue Lipoaspirate

Autologous fat grafting for soft tissue reconstruction is challenged by unpredictable long-term graft survival. Fat derived stromal vascular fraction (SVF) is gaining popularity in tissue reconstruction as SVF-enriched fat grafts demonstrate improved engraftment. SVF also has potential in regenerative medicine for remodeling of ischemic tissues by promoting angiogenesis. Since SVF cells do not ...

Hair follicle growth by stromal vascular fraction-enhanced adipose transplantation in baldness

Great interest remains in finding new and emerging therapies for the treatment of male and female pattern hair loss. The autologous fat grafting technique is >100 years old, with a recent and dramatic increase in clinical experience over the past 10-15 years. Recently, in 2001, Zuk et al published the presence of adipose-derived stem cells, and abundant research has shown that adipose is a comp...
