چکیده
Dynamically reconfigurable systems demand complicated run-time management. Due to resource constraints and reconfiguration latencies, efficient reconfiguration strategies that can reduce the overhead cost of dynamic reconfiguration need to be studied. In this paper, we i) propose a reconfigurable task model which extends the classical real-time task model to support the additional states and latencies needed to capture dynamically reconfigurable behavior, ii) propose a coprocessorcoupled reconfigurable architecture which has hardware runtime support for task execution, task reallocation and resource management, and iii) present a SystemC based framework to model and simulate coprocessor-coupled reconfigurable systems. We illustrate how COSMOS may be used to capture the dynamic behavior of such systems and emphasize the need for capturing the system aspects of such systems in order to deal with future design challenges of dynamically reconfigurable systems.

Reconfigurable Architectures: from Physical Implementation to Dynamic Behaviour Modelling
This dissertation focuses on the dynamic behavior of the reconfigurable architec-tures. We start with a survey of the existing work with the aim of categorizing the current research and identifying the future trends. The survey discusses the design issues of the reconfigurable architectures, the run-time management strategies and the design methodologies. The second part of our work focuses on ...
متن کاملAdvance Modelling and Simulation of Industrial Boilers
This paper presents some of the results of the simulation in the radiation section of an industrial boiler using an advanced mathematical model. Calculations are described for the flow, heat transfer, and chemical reaction processes occurring within a gas-fired cylindrical furnace. The calculation procedure is a two dimensional one in which the main hydrodynamic variables are the velocity and s...
متن کاملVisual and persistence behavior modeling for DEVS in CoSMoS
An integrated visual modeling and simulation tool called Component-based System Modeling and Simulation (CoSMoS) is extended to support behavioral specification of parallel atomic DEVS model. An approach based on Statecharts and Graphical Modeling Framework has been developed and implemented for specifying behaviors of atomic models. One or more Statecharts can be developed for any atomic model...

Complex systems modelling and simulation is becoming increasingly important to numerous disciplines. The CoSMoS project aims to produce a unified infrastructure for modelling and simulating all sorts of complex systems, making use of design patterns and the process-oriented programming model. We provide a description of CoSMoS and present a case study into the modelling of space in complex syst...
متن کاملGroundwater recharge simulation using a coupled saturated-unsaturated flow model
Abstract The coupled MODFLOW-HYDRUS software package was used to produce a saturated-unsaturated flow model for a Flood Spreading System (FSS) and its associated aquifer. The study aim to improve simulations of near-surface hydrological processes, including temporal and spatial variation in groundwater recharge rates. The coupled model was built with average RMSE=1.1 and 1.3 for calibration ...
