Star Formation in Relic HII Regions of the First Stars: Binarity and Outflow Driving

چکیده
Star formation in relic HII regions of the first stars is investigated using magneto-hydrodynamical simulations with a nested grid method that covers ∼ 10 orders of magnitude in spatial scale and ∼ 20 orders of magnitude in density contrast. Due to larger fraction of H2 and HD molecules, its prestellar thermal evolution is considerably different from that in the first star formation. Reflecting the difference, two hydrostatic cores appear in a nested manner: a protostar is enclosed by a transient hydrostatic core, which appears during the prestellar collapse. If the initial natal core rotates fast at a rate with rotational to gravitational energy ratio β0 & 0.01−0.1, the transient hydrostatic core fragments to ∼ 10M⊙ sub-cores at density ∼ 10 cm. With smaller rotation energy, fragmentation occurs at higher density while a single protostar forms without fragmentation if rotation is extremely slow with β0 . 10 −6 − 10. If magnetic field is present, these threshold values of β0 is boosted owing to angular momentum transport by the magnetic breaking. Magnetic field also drives the protostellar outflows. With strong magnetic field, two distinct outflows are observed: The slower one emanates from the transient hydrostatic core, while the faster one from the protostar. These flows may affect the final stellar mass by ejecting some of masses in the initial core, and also may play some role in driving and maintenance of interstellar turbulence in young galaxies. The formation of massive stars : accretion , disks , and the development of hypercompact HII regions Eric Keto
The hypothesis that massive stars form by accretion can be investigated by simple analytical calculations that describe the effect that the formation of a massive star has on its own accretion flow. Within a simple accretion model that includes angular momentum, that of gas flow on ballistic trajectories around a star, the increasing ionization of a massive star growing by accretion produces a ...

We present a multi-wavelength (NIR to radio) and multi-scale (1 AU to 10 pc) study of the S255–S257 complex of young high-mass (proto)stars. The complex consists of two evolved HII regions and a molecular gas filament in which new generations of high mass stars form. Four distinct regions are identified within this dusty filament: a young NIR/optical source cluster, a massive protostar binary, ...
متن کاملForming a Primordial Star in a Relic Hii Region
There has been considerable theoretical debate over whether photoionization and supernova feedback from the first Population III stars facilitate or suppress the formation of the next generation of stars. We present results from an Eulerian adaptive mesh refinement simulation demonstrating the formation of a primordial star within a region ionized by an earlier nearby star. Despite the higher t...

We present maps of seven sources selected from Klaassen & Wilson (2007a) in SiO (J=8-7) and HCO and HCO (J=4-3) which were obtained using HARPB on the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope. We find that four out of our seven sources have infall signatures based on their HCO emission profiles. From our maps, we have determined the extent of both the outflowing and infalling regions towards these sources...
متن کاملMassive Star Outflows
Molecular outflows in the form of wide-angle winds and/or well-collimated jets are associated with young stellar objects of all luminosities. Independent studies have established that the mass outflow rate is proportional to L bol for Lbol = 0.3 to 10 5 L⊙, suggesting that there is a strong link between accretion and outflow for a wide range of source luminosity and there is reasonable evidence...
