Critical exponent for the density of percolating flux.

چکیده
This paper is a study of some of the critical properties of a simple model for flux. The model is motivated by gauge theory and is equivalent to the Ising model in three dimensions. The phase with condensed flux is studied. This is the ordered phase of the Ising model and the high temperature, deconfined phase of the gauge theory. The flux picture will be used in this phase. Near the transition, the density is low enough so that flux variables remain useful. There is a finite density of finite flux clusters on both sides of the phase transition. In the deconfined phase, there is also an infinite, percolating network of flux with a density that vanishes as T → T+ c . On both sides of the critical point, the nonanalyticity in the total flux density is characterized by the exponent (1 − α). The main result of this paper is a calculation of the critical exponent for the percolating network. The exponent for the density of the percolating cluster is ζ = (1−α)− (φ− 1). The specific heat exponent α and the crossover exponent φ can be computed in the ǫ-expansion. Since ζ < (1 − α), the variation in the separate densities is much more rapid than that of the total. Flux is moving from the infinite cluster to the finite clusters

متن کاملField-Theoretic Approach to Biconnectedness in Percolating Systems
A general method is given whereby m-connectedness correlation functions can be studied in the percolation problem. The method for m=1 involves calculating the kth power of the correlation function ⟨σ(x)σ(x′)⟩ for a randomly dilute Ising model at nonzero temperature and subsequently averaging over configurations. The final step is to take the limit k→0. This method is tested by reproducing the s...
متن کاملExperimental Study on the Effect of Magnetic Field on Critical Heat Flux of Ferrofluid Flow Boiling in a Vertical Tube
In the present work, the critical heat flux measurements were performed for the subcooled flow boiling of pure water and magnetic nanofluids (i.e., water + 0.01 and 0.1 vol.% Fe3O4) in a vertical tube. The effect of applying an external magnetic field on the CHF variation was studied experimentally as well. The obtained results indicated that the subcooled flow boiling CHF in the vertical tub...
متن کاملComputational study of geometry-dependent resistivity scaling in single-walled carbon nanotube films
We study the geometry-dependent resistivity scaling in single-walled carbon nanotube films as a function of nanotube and device parameters using Monte Carlo simulations. We first demonstrate that these simulations can model and fit recent experimental results on the scaling of nanotube film resistivity with device width. Furthermore, we systematically study the effect of four parameters; namely...
متن کاملStudying Transition Behavior of Neutron Point Kinetics Equations Using the Lyapunov Exponent Method
The neutron density is one of the most important dynamical parameters in a reactor. It is directly related to the control and stability of the reactor power. Any change in applied reactivity and some of dynamical parameters in the reactor causes a change in the neutron density. Lyapunov exponent method is a powerful tool for investigating the range of stability and the transient behavior of the...
