Towards A Knowledge-rich Agent-based Social Simulation

چکیده
This paper advocates a new methodology for studying computational cultural dynamics. It argues that knowledge-rich agent-based social simulations are needed to understand and model the cultural dynamics of natural and artificial societies. The methodology is illustrated with the help of Multiagent Wumpus World (MWW) testbed. We also presents results of experiments conducted using a version of MWW.

Simulation of The Impact of Income Distribution on Social Unrest Using Agent-based Modeling Approach
Abstract Poverty and various forms of inequality, including class, gender, racial, and ethnic inequalities, are caused by imbalances of power relations and make society prone to social instability and unrest; Inequalities that are by-products of the growing power imbalances between the rich and the poor. The problems of poverty and inequality are inextricably linked to powerful economic and p...

RoboCup competition as a great test-bed, has turned to a worldwide popular domains in recent years. The main object of such competitions is to deal with complex behavior of systems whichconsist of multiple autonomous agents. The rich experience of human soccer player can be used as a valuable reference for a robot soccer player. However, because of the differences between real and simulated soc...
متن کاملA framework for Agent Based Social Simulation
Our research centres in the application of computational modelling to social sciences, more concretely, computer simulation of social phenomena. When these programs are represented specifically like agents we refer to them as Agent Based Modelling (ABM). The executions of these agent-based computational models are known as Agent-Based Social Simulations (ABSS). There are various libraries for d...
متن کاملTowards A Computational Science of Culture
Introduction Cultures are dynamic realities. Human societies are continuously experiencing waves of fashions, fads, crazes, revivals, new religious movements, and political ideologies. Not all such trends are equally successful at transforming the beliefs and behavior of the members of a society. Understanding why some cultural ideas achieve a higher level of distribution in and acceptance by a...
متن کاملPeer Pressure in Smoking and its Impact on Social Welfare; A Study Using Agent-based Modeling and Simulation
Many people die each year due to smoking. Social pressures, such as peer pressure, which are manifested in one's interactions with his/her peers, are from very effective factors in people's tendency to smoke. In this research, it was attempted to study and analyze peer pressure in smoking and its impact on some of the welfare indicators including mortality number due to starvation, wealth avera...
